Default P0090 Code and Intermitten No-Start

My 03 Duramax has been throwing out P0090 code and intermitten crank but no-start. The code has come on ramdomly but the intermitten no-start seems to happen in the morning when it's cold (about 35 dgrees).
Usually when the no-start occurrs, I plug my code reader in, clear the P0090 code and it starts.
A few days ago, I replaced the FPR but I've had the P0090 code pop back up and so far have had another no-start. I've read somewhere that possibly the ECM is to blame for the code and hopefully the no-start problem.
I have an appt on Monday to have my computer re-flashed to try to remedy the problem.

Anyone have similar issues or suggestions?

I just had my computer checked for updates, hoping that maybe a reflash would help correct the problem. I was told by the tech, there are no updates for the ECM and a reflash would be a waste of time and money. Ok, now what...

I've been doing a good bit of research on repeating code problems. Seems that there are several threads on this site and other diesel forms that these Duramax's have wiring chafing problems in several possible locations. The harness coming out of the ECM, the bail connectors above the driver side valve cover and the harness that passes behind the alternator and goes to the FICM.

I've spent some time looking at mine but cannot find any visual problems. I do not have the necessary tools (or information) to check all necassery voltages. I'm considering taking it to an automotive electrical repair place.

Made a more in-depth search of the wire harness that runs behind the alternator to the bail connectors. Found a partially damaged wire behind the alternator. The insulation was visually rubbed thin although I couldn't see any exposed strands of wire. Taped it up and placed a piece of rubber under the harness and zipped tied it back down.

Keepin my fingers crossed that this was the root of my problem.

Hey Ozz, That's why I have posted several times. Too often I have done searches and see problems someone is having but no solutions ever posted. Hopefully, I can help someone else in need.

I did a google search and found this;

Duramax Diesels Forum - View Single Post - LMM: Well it finallly blew, and Now it Runs!

Now, I purchased a FPR for an 2001 duramax diesel as I got a code p0089. My code went away and I never installed the pressure regulator. If you can use it, I'll sell it to ya for what I paid. 179 plus shipping. It's new and still in the plastic bag. If you can beleive this, the dealer was asking $492.00 for the same part There is a sticky here on how to replace this part.
