Default I switched plugs on ecm!!

Hope anyone can help me. I have an 01 duramax pretty much stock. I did head gaskets and in the mist of putting everything back together I switched the plugs on the ecm backwards. I know I screwed up. My question is did I ruin it because it doesn't start now. All fused good (checked 4-5 times), disconnected battery (6-7 times), checked all other connections and nothing bent or out of place. What should I do now? Thanks

I'm not really sure how you got the plugs wrong. You may have fried the ecm. this is the first time i've ever heard of anybody doing this. Didn't know that they would fit.

You'd have to bend and break to get them backwards, did you check the pins to make sure their ok?

They got flipped around in all the stuff I did to the truck. I cleaned and painted frame, brake lines, exhaust, fuel lines, etc. Yes when I put them in (backwards) I did have to tap them in with my hand. In the process of unplugging them to check for bent pins I saw the alignments built into the connector were a little mushroomed. At that time that is when I checked to see if I could have flipped them around, if you flip them and move them to opposite connection you can put them in wrong. The connectors are the same just different colors. It was too late I already did the damage as far as trying to start the truck. I'm getting an ecm today. Junkyard has one for $150 then I have to reprogram it right?

So your just going to throw parts at it? Why not diagnose it instead of firing up the parts cannon? Right now you have now valid reason to call it a failed ecm?

I'm not throwing parts at it. I haven't put any on yet. I'm getting a junkyard ecm today though. I did diagnose the problem I believe. I was wondering if anyone can say without a doubt I definetly did hurt ecm. I can't communicate with ecm,tcm or transfer case modules. But I can communicate with bcm, airbag, and abs. I have u1255 (generic/class 2 comm. fault), u1000 (class 2 serial comm. problem), u1016 (loss pcm comm.)--present codes. In the history because i cleared the codes are b0090 (active switch voltage out of range), u1041 (loss of ebcm/ebtcm comm.), u1096 (lost comm. with ipc/dic or class 2 txd), u1064 (loss bcm, vtd, dim, pzm and or sbm data). I was told by 2 chevy techs, toyota master tech, couple of diesel shops, and a couple of tuner shops it is very possibly I fried it, because you send voltage in and it should be coming out etc especially with all of the codes I have gotten. Yes all pins are ok. I took apart the ecm to see if I saw any burnt marks--nothing.

Have you checked powers and grounds at the ecm? I'd likely start by unplugging a module at a time and watching for communication to come back. It's possible you could fry multiple modules. I've got two lb7's here today, looked at the plugs...looks to me like you REALLY had to force them in!
I'd probably even go as far to look at pinouts, find out which ones had power and ground circuits and check those circuits for proper operation. I do feel like your headed for ecm and possible additional module replacement. That must be proceeded by checking powers and grounds in this situation.

Sorry it took so long to post my fix, I have been working 2 hours from home and commuting every night.I found the problem. Thanks guys for your help. I decided to check the fuses and grounds one more time before I bought an ecm. I found a bad fuse. I can't believe I missed it the other times I checked. It doesn't make any sense, but the good news is running great after I did everything to motor. Thanks again.
