Question 6.5 Over fuel and no start

Hello I am new to this forum so If i am in the wrong place please forgive me. I am having a HUGE problem with my 1997 6.5 turbo chev that I canmt sleep at night and I get sick to my stomach. Ive had so many people tell me that i need everything replaced and I am looking for some sound advice from the experts here. I am a gasser man pardon my lingo.

The start of the story

My uncle gave me the truck. He was driving and he pulled off to fuel up. After he filled his tank he for about 800' from the pumps and he looked back and the truck was blowing black smoke like no ones business. now it started running rough so he shut it down and had it towed home. Would a bad batch of fuel cause this? now the truck is massively over fueling.

So this truck has the fsd relocate and i tested with another driver to make sure it is functioning and it is. I pulled and tested all the glow plugs with a pass. When i was testing them I rolled it over to blow the fuel out when i had the fsd fuse out. Even amount of fuel out of all 8 cylinders. The truck tries to start and does for like 6 seconds but than dies. When cranking BLACK BLACK BLACK out of tail pipe. Also if someone cranks and i pull the fsd fuse and reinsert i can get it to run longer but i am hoping not to fry anything so I only tried that once. Any help would be much appreciated.

My conclusion is bad fuel? It smells like diesel
Or bad optical censor in Injector Pump? I'm told it that goes it can over fuel?

I doubt the fuel has gone bad if it smells good are you using 2 good batteries ? and is the engine spinning fast enough? check and clean all grounds especially the one on the rear passenger side cylinder head, bad grounds will give you all kinds of gremlins.
