Default MS Office Install

I have a new version I'd like to install. Do I have to uninstall the older version first? Then install the newer one? Also, if I uninstall, will I lose any of my saved Word, Excel, or PPT docuents? BTW I'm running XP. Thanks.

Just updated from Office 2003 to Office 2007. Did not loose a thing. A lot of new stuff to learn on it though.

Peace
