EGR delete for 6.2 diesel
Hi , I have 1991 k5 blazer powered by 6.2 diesel engine, my problem is when I looked inside the intake manifold and I saw black debris and dirt with some oil.
I know that the EGR valve is the problem, but my question is if I cancelled the EGR am I gonna face any problem with the check engine light?
I have another intake which dont have EGR and I will fix it.
my odometer has 97000 miles on it and the engine runs great with no smoke.
thanks.

just like any other chevy, pull the egr valve off and put a plate over the port with a new gasket. the only thing the egr valve does is recirculate exhaust gasses to warm the engine faster. I've never had a problem when I delete one. especially on an obd1.
I've never liked them after having to rebuild a couple ford 351's. egr gets stuck open and next thing you know, you have a piston with a hole burnt through it.

I have an intake I have no problem to fix it it's the same height, but I dont know should I only put a plate on the original or to fix the other intake?
the other intake I have has no EGR and its for HD truck.

I already removed the original Intake, so am gonna fix the one for HD now but one more thing, should I use the CDR which is for the HD or juct connect the original one which fixes on the valve rocker cover? and the HD intake got to inlets for the CDR, should I connect to both or just plug one, and connect the other ?
