EGR delete for 6.2 diesel

Hi :hellox:, I have 1991 k5 blazer powered by 6.2 diesel engine, my problem is when I looked inside the intake manifold and I saw black debris and dirt with some oil.
I know that the EGR valve is the problem, but my question is if I cancelled the EGR am I gonna face any problem with the check engine light?
I have another intake which dont have EGR and I will fix it.
my odometer has 97000 miles on it and the engine runs great with no smoke.
thanks.

i wouldn't see why. a 91 would hopefully not have to crazy of a diagnostics system i would think. if its obd1 look up what codes apply for the truck. or talk to heath and they could probably set you up with a chip or something if you need to delete it.

EGR delete

yes, it is obd1, and for time being I dont have any codes or problem with check engine light but its just I dont like to have the light on when I cancel the EGR.
one more thing, what will be the difference after I cancel the EGR?

low egt, better mpg, maybe a bit more power. i did a bunch of stuff when i deleted my egr so it all made a difference. if you talk to heath they will probably be able to tell you if it will trip a code and give you any advice.

just like any other chevy, pull the egr valve off and put a plate over the port with a new gasket. the only thing the egr valve does is recirculate exhaust gasses to warm the engine faster. I've never had a problem when I delete one. especially on an obd1.

I've never liked them after having to rebuild a couple ford 351's. egr gets stuck open and next thing you know, you have a piston with a hole burnt through it.

I have an intake I have no problem to fix it it's the same height, but I dont know should I only put a plate on the original or to fix the other intake?
the other intake I have has no EGR and its for HD truck.

what's wrong with the hd intake? I'd just delete the egr rather than put the time and money into swapping intakes, but save the hd intake incase you end up rebuilding your engine or decide to run 6.5 precombustion chambers.

I already removed the original Intake, so am gonna fix the one for HD now but one more thing, :humm: should I use the CDR which is for the HD or juct connect the original one which fixes on the valve rocker cover? and the HD intake got to inlets for the CDR, should I connect to both or just plug one, and connect the other :s:?
