i have questions about a 2006 5.9 cummins, maybe going to buy it, but it has bad injector and has been leaking for awhile, dont know if it would cause damage to motor. also how hard is a chip/programmer on the motor as far as wear

Injector, it'll wash the cylinder down with fuel, causing it to score. Replace it or all as soon as possible (major expense...$200 for a remand injector or $12,000 for a remand engine).

Module/Programmer, all depends how hard you are on the throttle. All of them raise rail pressure, and if you jump on the throttle and let off all of a sudden, major rail pressure spike. They do have a relief valve to HELP compensate, but whose to say it's not blocked closed??

How many miles are on it, and do you know the person that has it??

Ouch, $15,000...211,000 miles, engine is pretty much toast. I'd look for another truck.

Ditto.

You're looking at around 7 thousand to rebuild it ..... I wouldn't give them half the asking price, that engine is done.

Default Holset

I have an 06 F 650 and have had the 2nd turbo go bad. Its a Holset HE341VE.The first 1 was factory-went out at about 130000 miles. The 2nd came from Blaylock after about 15000 miles went bad and they refused to replace. Anyone have one for sale?
