48re tranny please help
new to this site as a member but I scour this site all the time for info. I need help with my 07 dodge with 5.9. viewed dozens of threads on tranny upgrades here and pulled the trigger on buying parts. bought all my parts from patc and took my truck and parts to my tranny guy. 1000 dollars later for parts and labor and 1-2 is great, 2-3 shift brings you out of your seat and sluggishly goes into gear. 3-4 shift is firm like 1-2. I ordered a transgo kit, sonnex intermediate servo, sonnex accumulator, billet band strut and anchor and the billet gm pressure regulator conversion. my tranny guy called transgo they told him their shift kit isn't designed to work with the servo and accumulator. I called patc and Nathan in the tech dept tells me that I need to drill a couple holes in the separator plate bigger to solve the problem of fluid flow. I had my tranny guy call patc to confirm and another guy in their tech dept tells him they don't do that anymore all they do is change out the apply lever to a 4.4 I think he said. please somebody help. I have read so many threads that so many people have installed the same parts and have had great success???????

If you ordered the transgo diesel vb reprogramming kit, it is very in depth and allows for various options and is for use in 47 and 48s. You have to pay close attention to what you have in front of you and what you are trying to accomplish with the trans. Your tranny guy may have skipped a step or misread something. I have never had any problems with gm gov. press. solenoid or sonnex pieces. Its always worked great.

1)what band lever did they send you? should be stamped on it a (4.8 should be fine)
2)recheck your band adjustment, i don't have it in front of me but I believe it is 73in/lbs then back 1 and 1/4 for the 48re.
3)call Goerend they work magic...
I've never seen that much trouble from transgo or sonnax it sounds like you may want to try another transmission shop...?
and please update I'm curious what the issue turns out to be.
