So first time doing my gauges on my 2004 Dodge Ram2500...and I am wondering if when doing an egt gauge you do it with the truck running or not...im worried about metal flakes/shavings getting down into the turbo but I don't have the necessary time to just remove the turbo...any advice would be much obliged.

Ive heard of people putting oil on top of the hole while drilling to bring out the metal.
Or you can have a vacuum cleaner next to the hole running while drilling.
Or you may have to disconnect the turbo and move it aside.
