Default Is there a difference in the front engine plate from 04 to 04 1/2?

Brand new to the forum and this probably a newbie question, but I haven't seen a thread covering this that I can find.

Does anyone know if there is a difference in the engine front cover between the 04 and 04 1/2 transition? Also any other variations that are made to the actual long block itself that you know of would be helpful. I'm wanting to convert 03-04 long blocks to 04 1/2 - 07. Thanks in advance. TA

Think the differences are in the pistons, head, injectors, and tune. Not 100% tho.

Depends on whether you are talking about 03-04 SO or HO blocks.

With the HO blocks, the differences are pistons, injector and valves. Eveyrthing else is essentially the same.

With SO blocks its all the above plus piston oilers and possibly rods.
