Default VP44 gradually dying??

I am feeling some hesitation on acceleration, most noticeable when the truck is cold. After it wrms up it is not as prominant but still there. My lift pump pressures are 16 PSI at the inlet. I don't get any codes in the odometer window. The truck starts like a champ..2002 5.9 HO Cummins....100k on this particular injector pump. I need to make a trip cross country in a month and I am concerned about it finally giving out. Or maybe it isn't the injector. The ECM and PCM are 2 years old...I replaced the PCM when the ECM quit. Thanks for taking the time. Doc

maybe you need a new throttle position sensor? have you changed the fuel filter recently?? I wouldnt jump the gun and say its the injector pump yet.. my truck has 120k miles and the vp44 is running strong. have you thought about putting aftermarket lift pump on like airdog or Fass? it will save your lift pump!!!

its so hard to fig these things out sometimes. i see your lift pump pressures are 16 psi so that tells me you have some type of after market pump on there which is good. we have seen every thing you can think of including all kinds of computer problems and of course vp44s. if you can find a good shop around you they can find it. my buddys shop brings a truck like yours in and hooks it up to his scanner. they drive it around watching the scanner.

Have a Raptor on it.....but maybe it was installed too late..I guess I'll ride it until it quits..then there will be no guess work. Thanks for your reply...

Only thing you can do is buy a replacement pump, tool box, and hope for the best. Good luck.
