Default Fuel Pressure question

So i picked up my new truck last saturday and have drivin it quite a bit and have come to notice that when driving at a constant speed around 55-65 the fuel pressure guage )that was installed before me owning it) sort of bobbles around 10-12 psi. and will run about 13 at acceleration and if it isnt bobbling around it will sit around 9. the truck does not have a fass or airdog. Ive looked at the guages and the installation is awful. So im wondering if it could be that the guage is screwy, if its a pressure problem, or if its nothing to worry about.

It is normal for the gauge to move around a little. That beening said as long as there is a snubber or needle valve in line the gauge should be ok.

The pulses from the VP44(injection pump) are very strong.

VP 44 will need 16-18 psi if you drop more than 2 or 3 pounds under WOT you may be running out of fuel. What kind of power adders do you have currently?

Your pressure is just too low, aftermarket pusher should fix it. You want 18psi at idle. If you are regularly seeing 9 you've drastically cut the lifetime of your vp44, sorry to say.

the truck is basically stock but it has some accel diesel chip with a 35 horse stage and 65 horse stage. ive turned it up maybe 5 time sinces saturday otherwise ive been running it stock. dont really need an issue right away. and not very thrilled about having to put 600 bucks or so into a pusher when i need to put tires on also.

Brent think you could PM me a price for a 90gph fass?

check your fuel filter also, but if you have the stock carter lift pump pretty normal reading, but you want to stay above 10 psi @ wot. Be sure to use some kind of additive/lube for the vp44
