Default intermitent no start

Afternoon. I am new here but have looked on this site many times so i figured it was time to join. I recently bought a 2000 2500 4x4 with an edge, 4 inch exhaust an s&b intake. The truck ran great until the holley blue pump died one day. I replaced it simply because i didnt have the funds for an airdog or fass, that is in the plans though. since then the truck randomly fails to start. I thought it was a fuel problem but when i crack an injector line there is plenty of fuel. My question is do the 2000's have a fuel shutoff solenoid like the 12 valves or is it all in the ecm? I dont know if its related but the crank posistion sensor went bad and there is an internal ecm short DTC as well. Thank you in advance

Internal ECM short? Bad wire? Maybe somebody else will understand what you mean but I don't. Also, if you don't have fuel pressure gauge you need 1 ASAP, you also need to scan for codes or use the key trick to check the codes, and let us know what comes up. Usually when a lift pump goes, the pressure has been so low for such a period that the vp44 injection pump is really struggling to stay alive.

What happens when you crank it? When it starts what does it do (black or white smoke?) and are there any symptoms while driving after you finally get it fired off?

Find a fp gauge asap and get a reading of your fuel pressure and it will help diagnose your problem for us.

thank you for the input. the thing that gets me is there is no smoke at start up, white or black. the fuel pressure is normally around 20-21psi at the injection pump. after i get it to start it runs fine. it pulls like a freight train and drives with no problems. The only dtc that it shows are P0122 and P1693. I do know that my crank posistion sensor is either going bad or has gone bad but i do not know if that could affect it.

I'm pretty sure 0122 is apps voltage too low, but I've never heard of those symptoms. Try googling it. 20-21 psi at idle is good, Normally when crank/cam sensors are on the outs they will cause your tach to stop working.

my crank position sensor went bad an wouldnt tell the lift pump to run or open then fuel shut off. changed that and all was well. i have the same issues now, it wont start, i'll have one to two psi with the key in run position. one i turn it over it wont fire. five to ten min later it will start right up and all is normal. i have an edge, and an air dog.
