I'm not too sure if these truck have a freeze switch, but if they do I would be suspect of it.

Can you hear the A/C compressor cycling? It shouldn't stay on all the time.

While I'm looking this up, does the A/C compressor turn off when you select vents only?

Freeze–up Control A/C Low Pressure Switch Accumulator mounted

Low psi Control Opens < 22-24 psi Resets > 37-43 psi

High psi Control Opens > 450- 490 psi Resets <270 - 330 psi
mounted on discharge line, near compressor

If you have a set of gauges, this may diagnose if a high, or low pressure switch has failed closed. With the gauges attached, if the low side goes below 22-24 PSI and the compressor is still running, the low pressure switch is bad. If the high side goes over 450-490 PSI, the high pressure switch is bad.

It may also be a case of too much freon in the system. When did the symptoms start? Did anything change from when it worked well, and until now?
