Default Crank sensor problem? I have pictures, HELP!

Ok guys I am new to this so here it goes.

I recently inherited this 98 12 valve, after replacing the batteries and having the alternator checked, i am still having issues with keeping a charge.

I was reading about this 'crank sensor' located near the alternator. Turns out my RPM gauge doesn't work, a/c doesn't work, and my cruise control doesn't work. Are these symptoms of a bad crank sensor? Do i even have this crank sensor?? haha

Please help, i uploaded some pictures in my album.
Anything helps,

Thanks

Ryan

Here is some more info.

To me it looks like someone tried to 'wire' in an oil pressure gauge because it quit qorking, obviously they did not care about the RPM not working or other issues. Well i do, .

I guess my question is as follows, Can i replace this crank sensor, and fuel shut off solenoid wire harness? Will this give me my gauge readings back? Fix the no charge issue?

from the pics i just viewed i would say your crank sensor is totally covered in oil as it looks like oil is all over the place. you can pull the sensor which sits right above the harmonic balancer( or crank) clean it off with brake cleaner. use a credit card to re gap it. if that works, then you know it is the oil getting in the way. really looks like you need to look into that oil leak reall soon!!!!

I wish I knew. I just took it to the mechanic today and dropped it off, maybe he can make sense of that rat's nest.

I will get back on as soon as i find out what the diagnosis is.
