| 12 Valve 2nd Gen Dodge Cummins 94-98 Discussion of 12 Valve 5.9 Liter Dodge Cummins Diesels with P7100 Injection Pumps |
Does the mechanical lift pump on the 12V's have a check valve in it? I'm thinking of putting a Holley Black pump inline with it to prime my system before I start it... I know I should find the leak where its sucking air, but ... JOIN NOW TO REMOVE TRACER

Does the mechanical lift pump on the 12V's have a check valve in it? I'm thinking of putting a Holley Black pump inline with it to prime my system before I start it... I know I should find the leak where its sucking air, but I'll do that when its warm. It seems like it only looses prime when its cold, but I just gotta do something, its really starting to tick me off, and smoking like a mother when I fire it up.
So, will a Holley black pump prime the system past the lift pump? Or will it just pressurize the line to the lift pump, and help the lift pump push fuel to the P-Pump? - |

Did it solve it?
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Well... I put it in, but its shot... I should have guessed after what I put that stupid thing through. I'm gonna spend the night tearing the Haisley Kicker pump out of the 98 so I can put it in the 97... The 98 doesn't see much road time anymore anyways. That should solve my problem, as it feeds directly to the pump, and has its own fuel filter. - Last edited by MotorOilMcCall; 12-02-2008 at 12:39 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |
