Burnt trans oil?
So I was checking all my fluids this morning and pulled the dip stick to the transmission. I havent really checked it to much in the last year because of how often its been in and out of the tranny shop because of problems they couldnt find with it. Anyway pulled the stick and the fluid is starting to get a brownish look...to me anyway. My real question is what should it smell like? Ive been told you can smell the oil when the trannys are going out? Thanks guys

Just getting some more opinions so I dont look stuipd bringing it back to the shop. I had it over hauled about a year ago..got it back didnt shift right. took it back they put a shift kit in it and did fine. Then about a month later i come up to a stop light and make a full stop, then let off the break to creep forward and it was like locked in gear or something. I had to give it some gas to get it to break free. And it still does it to this day. Ive had the truck in the shop 3 times just because of this problem. so the 3rd time I took note of how many miles were on the truck when I dropped it off. Long story short they test drove it for 8 miles. I told them to take it on 3 trips and drive the crap out of it to get it to mess up. They just keep saying its fine. Not much they can say when the oil isent red and smells like burnt metal.
