well, I just sold my 96, kinda sad to see it go but it was beginning to have some issues that I didn't want to deal with. I know have a knew project for my winter lay off. I purchased a 2001 ext.cab shortbed 4x4 2500 with a 360v8 and an automatic. it has a bunch of new parts and a 4 inch lift. this winter im going to be swapping in a 12v and a nv4500. I have a complete 1997 doner truck with a stock 12v and a 5 speed. it is 2wd but I bought the 4x4 mainshaft so it will mate up to the transfer I bought. ive owned a few cummins and im a heavy equipment mechanic so I have a pretty good idea what im getting myself into. just wondering for you folks that have done a cummins swap what problems I might run into and what things I might still need. my biggest question is will the gasser 2500 front suspension handle the 12v.
any info is much appreciated. Thanks
