odd truck problems. NEED HELP!!
alright i have a 95 cummins that recently started giving me some wierd problems.
As i drive my truck it'll run fine and every thing until i shut it off. once i start it back up, the check engine light flickers, the charging system stops working, rpm gauge stops working, and overdrive stops also. Ive replaced the crank sensor and spaced it right at .050 like everyone say. So what else could be the problem? i could really need the help thanks guys

often times the new crank sensor could still be malfunctioning. it would also be a loose pin in the harness on the pcm. also have you checked the wiring from the sensor up. if the crank sensor is bad or not getting power the pcm doesnt even know the trucks running so no tach no overdrive or lockup and no charging

i was having the same issue with my truck, i checked and regapped the sensor and it was good. so i thought the wires could be bad but the continuity was fine. so i checked the power out of the pcm to the sensor. it is pin A17 purple and white wire. only getting a 10th of a volt. its to be 5. pulled the connecter apart to check the 2 grounds and the battery plus and ignition power both good. checked a few other of the pins that run 5 volt and the same 10th of a volt. i have a bad pcm checking that is the easiest way to find out if its the sensor still or the pcm
