mom got her a 05 jetta tdi. anything to watch for on these.

Make sure you use the correct oil, 505.01, read the maintenance/owners manual. Drive it and have fun!

the 505.00 and 505.01 and that sort of thing can be purchased at a variety of locations. What you the consumer need to do is read the label and look for that spec. Do not assume for a moment that the local "quick-lube" is going to use the correct product.

The oils you need to look at for the specification are ELF, AMSOIL, Mobile1, Motul Oils and that sort of thing. The thing to understand here is that not all oils will do what you think they are do for the TDI PD motor.
