Car Shoppin'

I know that diesels used to be a pain to start in the cold (trucks still can be), etc...but is it still like that. Possum is trying to talk me into getting the diesel version, but I'm not sold...Although I do like the prospects of mods...:sen:

I would like to hear that response as well. They have to be better then they were. I had an 81 VW rabbit that felt like paint mixer for the first 5 minutes after starting in cold weather.
those jettas seem like real nice cars

A girl I work with has one as a daily driver and we have some of the harshest conditions for winter and hard starts and she has no issues at all. Needs to be plugged in overnight, but sits outside all day at work no problem! Wicked fuel mileage...as high as 65mpg and 40ish running it hard!

Longhorn 04-16-2007 02:34 PM

Oh yea, thats Canada by the way...-40C is not uncommon in the winter (not for long thank goodness). It is very smooth and unbelieveably quiet....No more of the old paint shaker issues associated with the old VW's....

She is a real bitch and her boyfriend/fiance bought her personalized plates for x-mas...

SWRCRWT...SOUR CROUT....we bug her that it reads Sewer Crotch! lol

lmao"give:

Longhorn 04-16-2007 02:38 PM

We would never say that but she is the nastiest chick I have ever met....a real piece of work! And for whatever reason, nobody will fire her...she is great at her job, just shouldnt be allowed to interact with humans....:ph:

TWDuvall 04-16-2007 02:40 PM

Well, that sounds interesting...LOL...yeah...I just don't wanna have to fool with plugging it in and worrying when it does get cold. BUT...is there much difference in power, maintenance? Is it more difficult for just anyone to work on more expensive for parts, etc.?

Kick Start 04-16-2007 02:45 PM

we dont get that cold in ky so it wont have to be plugged in

come on get the diesel

TWDuvall 04-16-2007 02:54 PM

we'll see...i wanna try to go look at them soon down at don jacobs in lex.

There will be alot bigger selection in the diesel lineup soon. Jeep already has two SUVs out with a CRD under the hood. The Liberty and the Grand Cherokee.
