I will be attending my first sled pull. stock motor no mods and 6spd. i wanna prep my truck to pull but got some questions. will the clutch hold? 4low or high?(3.73 with 35*1250) planning on building traction bars soon. i will build my own hook should i incorporated trailer stops to keep from being hit? and other then give it hell any other suggestion or is it straight forward, IE stick it to the wood and go like hell.

build some suspension stops, 3rd low dont slip the clutch much

like dustin said dont pull to high of gear. just kinda take it easy to see how your truck is going to hook up. you will like it:tu:

i'm pumped up. really want to do this. looking into clutch options and ladder bars. i think those 2 are more important then power adders. no sense on having power that can never touch the ground.

that clutch is going to hate 35" tires ... if you plan on pulling might want to look into some 33's

just talked to my local diesel shop, i think im just going to get my self a southbend dual disk $1174, now my U-joints will hate me...

94 12valve 04-07-2012 09:29 AM

make sure its the sfi competition version other wise that dual disk will not last ... not all dual disks are created equal

cummin_un_glued 04-07-2012 12:19 PM

for that price it cant be the SFI clutch, unless its used

Diesel Dawgs Performance 04-07-2012 12:46 PM

That sound like the SB towing DD which is not SFI approved or designed for sled pulling.

I would run a sintered iron dual disc all the companies have them, Valair, Kenny's, or Southbend. Ladder bars are a good idea with suspension stops. That eliminates axle wrap.:tu:
