The injection pump and billet cam with big lift and duration is where its at. In this video the trucks that ran out all had a 3.6 or larger.

Very nice video, some good running trucks. We all run big pumps and cams in our 3.0 trucks. If i could afford it i would love to get a different turbo to run in nadm's unlimited class, but big turbos cost big money, i will just stick to my lil 3.0 for now.:w2:

Its not the turbo that cost money its the driveline you need to hold the power.

True but i have all of that all ready. If you can weld in a rockwell yourself, it really not that bad to build one, as far as money goes. But the drop boxes and reversers are expensive. I am still running a nv4500 with a pro fab drop box, with very good luck, but i will probably go to a reverser when or if i toast it. But so far the nv has held up to 1100 plus hp and the drop box well, if i break that i am either doing something really wrong or really bad!:argh:

And you would be surprised what some really well built turbos for pulling cost, much more than my drop box!!

If you want to pay for those over priced turbos. Many of the top trucks on a national level run box charges from borg warner.

I guess i need to talk to those guys. I consider to run a run with the top pro=street diesel pullers in the country and non of us run out of the box chargers. But i have no reason not to believe an out of the box charger can perform, but i do build and dyno a lot of motors with lots of trial and error with parts, i just trusst the numbers i see.

A .96 is pretty tight.

Casper (duramax) runs a gt42 and gt55 twined iirc.

coalrollin12v 01-17-2010 12:44 PM

yeah the gt55 is a 91 mm or at least one in that series is the gt-55 is huge

fyi in that vid the first truck that runs out i have seen over here and i think that it had either a 3.0 or it was a twin truck.... i will do some checking but here is a single turbo truck for ya.... he pulls in the superstreet class with small twin guys

this truck is a single charger and its giant..... im on the pit crew..:yeah:

kjpcummins 02-19-2010 01:34 PM

the first truck that pulled out in that video was a red rclb dodge called ragged edge and was running a 3.5 in that video
