38''x 14.50''
Will 38x14.50 toyos fit under a 95 ctd with a 5'' lift?
|
doubt it.....
|
It seems like they might since we can fit 35s with just a leveling kit. Theres a guy around here that claims to have a 5'' lift and he has 40s under it but Im not sure how wide they are.
|
if you dont like the bottoms of your fenders and bumper then yes you can fit 38's just fine.
|
Its not the height, its the width. You could fit a 38 if it was 13.5 or less inches wide but not any bigger.
|
I was just talking to a local guy here, he has a 95 ext cab long bed with the v 10 and he has a 5'' lift with 39.5sx15 and he scrubs alil when he turns hard.
|
man today i seen a SEXY f-250 single cab long box when i was on lunch, was white like my truck, with a 7.3 tho rebadged with 6.0 emblems, lifted i would guess bout 4-6" total, running on 315/75s, and I do say, i wish my second gen dodge could look that pretty. That ford knew what was up, and was a pretty good lookin truck. Ill get pics up as soon as I can-
sorry to go off topic at all- |
I have 10" of lift and can fit a 41" x14.5" tire. I doubt with 5" of lift you could fit a 14.5" tire unless the wheels are stickn out.
|
Ya she has got 39.5x15s on here 94 2500 with a v10 and 5'' of lift. rubs alil at full lock.
|
38x14.50 $$$$ those tires cost more than a 7" lift from skyjacker if your talking about mud terrains. pics of your truck to see it with 35's?

a 3rd gen here has a 6" lift and he rubs with the 38's. i think the 3rd gens fit bigger tires because the wheel wells are round. i have around 10" of lift and the front axle is 2" forward on my 96 "1/2 ton" with 39.5 x 15.50's. i think it will depend on how much rub bothers you.
|
One of problems is the control arms, not just width. You need to reposition the axle forward. Not all Lift kits do this properly. It might also help to run a negative offset wheel.
With a set of good control arms and the Negative offset Custom wheel you should be able to run those tires. Matt |
You can fit 38in tall tires on the truck no problem, but 14.50's, no way:nope:

u goda pic of it?? id love to see it. i was wonderin if i could swing 39 on a 6 inch lift in getting.
From experience, it's not so much the 39 part that is going to hurt you, it's the 15.5 part. I'd go with an 8 inch if you want 39s. I'd also roll 4.56 gears with 39s. |

I'm rolling 14.5s on mine with about 5.5" in the front, I don't think an extra 1/2 inch is going to clear that extra 4 inches of tire (well, 2 inches from the hub to where it's going to hit the bumper). I kicked out my bumper an inch, too.

Hey ms smokin,
have in mind that going higher most of the times involves a bunch of other things like new alignment, quicker worn out bushings... Bigger tires pull on your chassis, more weight gives all involved steering parts a hard time to work. Going higher is just the inital cost. It always has a rat tail on it. |

Im runnin 8in and 38*15.50s on my ford. Only rub on the drivers side leaf spring at full lock. Im gonna do the cut out flares and 44s when the 38s wear down a little, but these kumhos wear really good and i think its gonna be awhile.

Ive got 20x10in wheels, dont rember the offset. Ill have to measure, but they stick out pretty good, and if i didnt live in texas they would be beggin for a ticket.lol Ill go measure it here in a few min.
|
so u think 14.50 with fender flares would be ok?
|
Alot depends on the wheel. My tires stick out past the fender about 4.5in.

what are the local laws for your state, and what state is it? i know in pa tires cant stick out at all and if u do lift it it needs mudflaps. also bumpers cant be above 30 inches to the bottom.

Headlights Max 54" Min 24", Taillights Max 72" Min 15", Foglights Max 30" Min 12". That the only lift law in texas. And very rarely do they check the light hight unless your ridiculous huge or a rice burner.lol Also, your allowed to relocate your lights. Alot of people block the factory lights and hang some off the bottom of the bumper to be legal. Not sure what the law is on fender flares, but if there is one, its not inforced.
Window tint is 35% but most people run 20% and your fine unless the cop fells like being picky that day. No muffler is required, but you can still get a noise violation. And I've rolled the coal in front of cops before and most dont care. Theres even a couple cops who live in my area that drive bad ass diesels.lol Just a few reason why Texas is the only state I'd live in.lol |
