Hey ms smokin,
have in mind that going higher most of the times involves a bunch of other things like new alignment, quicker worn out bushings...
Bigger tires pull on your chassis, more weight gives all involved steering parts a hard time to work.
Going higher is just the inital cost. It always has a rat tail on it.

i know babe. dnt underestimate me cuz ima grl. i am aware of all this growin up with and around a town full of lifted trucks and owning them all of my life

Im runnin 8in and 38*15.50s on my ford. Only rub on the drivers side leaf spring at full lock. Im gonna do the cut out flares and 44s when the 38s wear down a little, but these kumhos wear really good and i think its gonna be awhile.

how bad do your 15 50 stick out? and what size wheels u got?

04redstroker 04-09-2010 01:39 PM

Ive got 20x10in wheels, dont rember the offset. Ill have to measure, but they stick out pretty good, and if i didnt live in texas they would be beggin for a ticket.lol Ill go measure it here in a few min.

so u think 14.50 with fender flares would be ok?

04redstroker 04-10-2010 11:50 AM

Alot depends on the wheel. My tires stick out past the fender about 4.5in.

Better check the price on Bushwhacker cut out flares (cut outs if you intend on using them to clear bigger tires). There's a reason that I bought a lift and not Bushwhacker cut outs. Standard fender flares aren't very wide (about 2 -3 inches) and won't help with tire clearance, meaning that you are going to need an 8 inch lift for 38/39s unless you use the cut outs.

guess ill just put them on then see how bad they stick out. if cops stop me ill just put on flares. dumb cops!
