Here is some info about the guy....

I liked the guy, at least what he shared with me. Our last talk was over 35 minutes (he wasn't happy with outsourcing to China) but I still don't have the 6 wheels, 6 tires, 10X10 adaptors and shipping that I paid for, in advance. I'll pay a recovery fee but only when I get them in person. Yes, I'll drive down there for them, $5000 is a lot of money to me.

Any one suing the estate of David Christoffel of Big Dually Wheels, Texas?

I am sure that my husband is not the only one that is out of a lot of money. We are out $5,000.00. I contacted the Better Business Bureau prior to my knowledge of his death. They have been of no help so far.

If anyone is suing the estate, please share on this forum any contact information for the attorney. I would be happy to join you and contribute to the attorney fees.

I just checked into this forum to see what's happening with Big Dually Wheels. I waited for my order but I didn't know about the death of David till today (February 4th, 2011). I didn't receive my order of wheels but I remember clearly speaking to him on the phone last year. I don't know what kind of person he was and I believed till the end that he will keep his promise and will send my wheels. He's gone. I lost time and money but at this point I think nothing can be done. It's all very sad.
Hopefully there will be someone, who'll be taking over David's business.

Need to sue Big Dually Wheels estate, class action?

:order:It seems that Dave scammed many people out of a lot of money. He ran his business from his home there was no show room. He kept my husband and I going since March when we paid him 5k. I am currently going through American Force Wheels and they are helping the Big Dually customers. I am dealing with Robert. It is funny how Dave kept saying it takes 6 to 8 weeks for custom wheels, need Dept of Transp Stamp, need more time, sent me aluminum and not steel, I was in an accident, I was out of town, they should be on the dock, they said they were shipped and many others are waiting just like you and I can go on. I asked for a refund so many times. American Force wheels 3 to 5 days to set up and the same time to ship. 2 weeks time for the same product.

If we can keep the communication going I think we can get a class action lawsuit against his estate. We need more people to step up. I am waiting for the BBB to reply back, they have until the 14th of this month and I will be calling them.

Anyone have info to help or know an attorney or is one. Please reply....

Well, attorneys cost money, if it were on a contingency basis, I'd be in. Throwing good money after bad is stupid. If any of what we read earlier about him going through a painful and expensive divorce is true, he just might have died penniless. If that's the case, you might get a judgement that is worthless. I live over 1500 miles away in another state so I'm probably going see if I can write it off as a loss on my taxes and walk away.

On another note, I did try to contact American Force, they ignored me. :bat: Besides, I need wheels that can handle the full payload of my '08 F450, I cannot afford to de-rate my truck to a 1 ton, I sometimes run at 35,000 GCVW and around 5500-6000 on the gooseneck.

I don't have a dog in the fight, but I agree with what HEMTT said. Chasing bad money with good is not smart. In the end, you are probably not going to get anything.

If the company was not a corporation meaning it was a sole proprietorship it was dissolved when the man died. If it was a corporation the other members of the company are still involved and are responsible for any debt he left behind. That would be your only hope, most likely it was a corporation with his wife being the other member, when the divorce was final she lost her ownership in the company, when he died the corporation was dissolved. THIS IS ALL SPECULATION ON MY PART

People also need to realize that the BBB is an organization that people pay to be members of, it is not regulated in any way. They have no power and if a company is not a paying member they have no way to moderate a dispute, nor will they get involved because there is nothing in it for them. The BBB is no different then any other organization a company sponsors or is part of. I have never spent the $500.00 annual to join because there is no benefit as a business owner.

Big Dually Wheels loss

I appreciate the feedback. I am just the wife of the owner of a 2006 GMC 4500 Topkick and I know how important it is to get the correct wheel setup for his truck. American Force currently has their tech looking at the pictures that my husband sent of his air bag mounting for the bed. They usually are not welded like my husbands and they want to make sure there is not going to be any rubbing with the big rig tires set up he wishes to put on. I feel they have been most helpful and more knowledgeable than others.

As writing the money as a loss that was paid to Big Dually, I just felt that it is worth a try and the feedback is most appreciated. I did speak to an attorney here in New Jersey who said to contact an attorney in Texas and if there are more people a class action can be filed. I did hear that someone in Canada is suing to get 12 K back and I am hoping this person may read this.

By the way my husband also owns a 1999 Dodge 2500 Cummins and 2008 Dodge 3500 Cummins. Unfortunately, he sold the 98 Dodge 2500 Plow to pay Big Dually and we had the biggest snow fall this year in New Jersey. OUCH....:argh:

SHARING: American Force Wheels never got back to us. I contacted Cameron from whom I purchased my husbands IRONBULL bumper from and he told me to contact Diesel Wheels. What an unbelievable difference of the knowledge of these individuals. They not only deal with wheels but customizing as well. They knew exactly what needed to be down with the airbags on my husband Topkick aka Kodiak. No pictures needed. LOL. Check out their site at dieselwheels.com or call #1-305-696-9994 or 9990.:jump:

Hey all, I know this is an old thread, however the amounts of money lost was signifigant and may not have been recouped yet. I was just doing some searching for some adaptors, from a location in Houston, and wondered across this thread at the same time I found the website. what got my attention was the address. Ameri-T.A.W. Mfg. Co. Inc. - Chromewheel.com Main Page Sells rims and adaptors and the address listed is the same as one that a user posted belonging to the bigdualliewheels.com the deceased. So my reason for posting is that there may be some reconciliation for those who have lost funds. Its not far fetched that the company was sold, however the debt is usually assumed by the new owners. So, I'm going to attempt to make contact, and a drive, since this is still the cheapest I've seen adaptors, even wholesale, but to offer this for those.. later
