if you have a dodge jus leave er in 4 hi thats what i have done everytime i race... it doesnt seem to slow my truck down at all just make sure your u joints and all are in good shape and greased so nothing comes apart while your going down the track... also if you want to get more comfortable with it before you race then find a back road with a long stretch and do a nice 4 hi boosted launch and hold er to the floor till about 90 and thats a good quarter mile but make sure you have room to slow down

the first thing to go will be you output shaft... that is if u have a clutch and input.. yet to have a problem with a t-case in either trucks..

i used to race my 96 pontiac formula firebird i had with full exhaust and tuned and intake... but then i also raced my truck prob 30 passes before track closed for winter. best i could get was an 18.3 and thats launching in 4wd. my trans slips when it hits overdrive so i have to get out of it. but still seems kinda slow to me. guess once i get a trans hopefully it will be little better lol

King copa I launch mine at 20lbs all the time and my tcase holds up just fine havent had any problems. Now I've also dropped it from 4wd to 2wd wot and had no problems yet, not saying thats its totally fine or ok to do but I haven't had any problems so take It for what Its worth:c:

I love going new to a place that knowone knows me. Before I got my stack, I was trying to be polite, taking the right lane as to not smoke out my oppenent should I be out front. It was an early 70's Torino, brite yellow, slicks, loud, you know the type. While in the staging lanes, he cut me off and forced me into the left lane. That run I ran 11.71 to his loosing 11.89, and yes he ate smoke the entire 1/4 mile. Best kill of my career. He informed me that diesel trucks didnt belong on the track. I said, "I thought the object here was to go fast". Help your fellow Diesel Brothers, no matter Ford, Dodge, or GM.

Hey guys I have an 02 lb7 what do I need to be careful with when I drag front drive shaft, tie rods, etc....... What is the best way to run should I run in 4 high/low with tow/haul on/off and brake boost??? :humm:

Any boosted launches require special attention to the front steering components. Tie rod sleeves, center link, cognito braces, ect. Keeping the front tires pointed straight is a good start. Just make sure your driveshafts both have good ujoints. I run 4-hi, tow/haul on. Boosted launches are definetly faster, start small and work your way up so that you can determine what you and your truck can handle. Start off letting your truck shift itself. After you get a baseline run, you can experiment and see if you do a better job shifting. I can't, truck does just fine shifting on its own.
