H.R. 822—the “National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act of 2011” is scheduled for a vote on the U.S. House floor this Tuesday, November 15. We’ve told you the truth about why the legislation is very good for gun owners and now it is imperative that you contact your U.S. Representative IMMEDIATELY and urge him or her to vote for H.R. 822 WITH NO AMENDMENTS.

As we have been reporting all along, H.R. 822 is a good bill for gun owners. The bill will enable America’s millions of permit holders to exercise their right to self-defense while traveling outside their home states by requiring states to recognize each others' lawfully-issued carry permits, just as they recognize driver's licenses and carry permits held by armored car guards.

H.R. 822 does not create a federal licensing or registration system; does not establish a minimum federal standard for the carry permit; does not involve the federal bureaucracy in setting standards for carry permit; and it does not destroy or discourage the adoption of permitless carry systems such as those in Arizona, Alaska, Vermont and Wyoming.

Again, this critically important bill will be on the House floor on Tuesday. Please IMMEDIATELY contact your member of Congress and urge him or her to vote for H.R. 822 WITH NO AMENDMENTS.

Did it pass?

Haven't heard if it passed yet or not. Figure I'll get an email from Chris Cox from the NRA-ILA as soon as the votes are tallied. I emailed my rep last week concerning this. Keeping my fingers crossed!:c:

It passed the house... but has little chance of passing the senate.

And then Obama would have to sign it... Thats more doubtful then anything.

It will pass the Senate with their changes most likely. That's if it isnt killed.:argh:

I don't like it unless it comes with a law that standardizes issuance and language of carry permits. It would completely undermine any state, county or city's gun policy. This isn't a little bill, I don't see how it wouldn't essentially give every community in the country the same weapons permitting that as the community with the weakest permitting.

I wouldn't mind seeing laxer weapons control laws, but forcing reciprocity over state's rights to control weapons isn't the answer. A state or local entity needs to be able to put people inside under a blanket of laws, no matter where they live or are from.

I'll be damned if I want a bunch of armed ornery cajun coonass tourists running around my block when I'm not allowed to be armed myself. :D

Yep, it passed the house, but the democratic/liberal controlled senate will never let it on the floor..not at all....

However, if it somehow does pass obama will have to sign it in the dark of night...or else really alienate a chunk of potential voters....voters he has ignored so far...

Would be funny to legally carry in states that do not allow residents to carry concealed...:tttt: :tttt: :tttt:
