Gives ya something to practice suck starting???

It's a rather un practical rifle & unless ya are going to be developing handloads & punching paper at 1,500 yards or more...not worth a dang...why do you think it was sold so cheap....:pca1:

But hey, some of us have small penises & are insecure with who we are and need to over compensate...:humm::humm::humm::humm:

Marine 09-17-2011 10:12 AM

The Barrett 82A1 isn't a sniper rifle, it will never beat out a Mcmillan in accuracy:nope:

Show's exactly how little you know and how full of hot air you actually are....:humm: :humm: :humm: :choochoo: :choochoo: :yeah:

United States Army Spc. Nick Ranstad while deployed to Nuristan Prvince, Afghanistan - at a very remote FOB with the 173rd Airborne, 1-91st Airborne Cavalry "Hatchet" Recon Platoon took out a Taliban target that he and his spotter had been stalking from 2100 meters! That's 1.3 miles. Nick's shot is now confirmed as a US Army record for a sniper kill in Afghanistan. The Canadians hold the record with a 2430-meter shot (took 3 shots for the kill however)

When the bad guys were seen taking up a fighting position, our sniper and spotter sighted in on the primary target but before the shot could be taken, the bad guy walked behind a huge rock. Nick immediately switched over to the second target and Nick took him out with the shot. They then switched back to try and get the primary, but the bad guy stayed behind the rock after seeing the other go down. SOOOO Nick started shooting the rock!!

Why you ask?

Because they had Apache air support in the area and the pilot could see Nick's rounds impacting the rock

...(keep in mind, this is at over a mile!!)

...the pilot used that to target and fire 20mm and a Hellfire missile - which of course turned the rock into little pebbles, mixed with bad guy 'fertilizer' ....

Wondering if Ronnie Barrett ever envisioned his rifle being used as a targeting designator for air support...

Wonder why the 50 BMG shooters, use Mcmillan in competition. Cause they want to win:yeah:

To hit a person, mind you. Not a truck, tank, car, tent, or anything else. A 5'8", dirty, smelly, terrorist skum ball.

I can't talk to much smack about Canada...since I'm married to a Canadian...

Still did it, still have the record. It was a good few years ago as well.

Check who hold the record, for the smallest group it wasn't a barrett:nope:

Not to take anything away from our Neighbors to the North, but that record has been broken by a Brit... TWICE! He killed two taliban insurgants with 2 shots from 8,120 feet (2706.66 yards or 2474.976 meters) with an Accuracy International L115A3 chambered in .338 Lapua. Then fired a 3rd round, striking their PKM machinegun. i don't care who ya are, that's some mighty fine shooting!

World's longest sniper kill - 2.47km twice!

Badass of the Week: Craig Harrison

That's not the rifle you got....it's a much better one....

And the scope you got....is not exactly a high end accurate S&B or NightForce....hell, it's about as cheap as a scope and under powered for a 50 as you can get, bet it does not even hold up to a box test...

Gunman, i think you have a problem. This isn't the first thread of yours stating you bought a firearm that you don't know why. In part, I envy you. On the other hand, I can think of so many other things the money could go to. I believe an intervention is necessary.

Yep he has a issue, he buys guns cheap thinking they are worth more than he paid for em & does not do his homework on em...

It's sort of funny in a sad way....ya can't help but feel sorry for him...:ouch::ouch::ouch:

Money in my pocket, gives me an itch:s: As for the scope, I have a BURRIS BLACK DIAMOND 8-32x50 that I will use & I'll find another scope for the McMILLAN 300 WIN. MAG:tu:

Mr. Miyagi 09-17-2011 07:49 PM

Hmmm.....$2,900 starting bid, 7 day auction, on the largest and most used firearms auction site of the internet.

You were the first and only bidder....I'd say you either paid market price or perhaps a touch higher than market price.

They're nice rifles, but only single shots, and a bit bulky & heavy for a single shot.

Not a great deal, but much, much better than paying retail for it, as IMHO anything with a McMillan name on it is overpriced by a good bit.

I don't believe they are a union shop, either...

MCMILLAN 50BMG/ 50 BMG BIG MAC! : Bolt Action at GunBroker.com

I'm sorry but this is the first time I have ever heard someone bothered by the fact that they bought a 50bmg anything:w2://just sayin///
Also the benifit of the Barret semiauto is the quick target reaquisition compared to a bolt gun, much less if you have a unfriendly vehicle uproaching at high speed its nice to know that you can empty the mag as quick as you can pull the trigger, I don't care how good you are with a bolt gun you can't compare!!!!!!!!:bat: Bob

gunman41mag 09-17-2011 08:35 PM

I think I have too many McMILLAN now, but my pockets have that itch again:w2:

bobfbigman 09-17-2011 09:06 PM

I am a union man too, that is why I can afford my toys, unfortunately guns and unions are on differet sides of the aisle but OH WELL, not many manufactures will be union because of the politics involved, our local even has a shooting team. I prefer to buy american made arms for the fact that Americans made them. I am thinkin of getting a 50bmg barret myself, probably the bolt instead of the semiauto cuz I could buy 2 for the price of one s-auto

BOB don't let the "UNION HATERS" bother you, If it wasn't for union pay, how would a guy like me with only a high school diploma make the big money:c:

gunman41mag 09-17-2011 09:45 PM

Will be mailing a BANK of AMERICA cashiers check on MONDAY:yeah: Then I'll just have to wait for the McMILLAN, will remove the EAGLE OPTICE scope & mount a BURRIS BLACK DIAMOND 8-32x50:tu:

Not a union "hater" as I have past experience as a union shop steward myself, before transitioning into a different type of employment.

....I'm just tired of union members who are hypocrites and want to be union only when it benefits them, and not supporting their fellow union brothers by refusing to do business with places who don't support the union brotherhood.

It's kinda comical actually, how they break holes in their own wall and wonder why it falls down.

Aside from that, buying products made at home--wherever that may be--is always a G O O D choice. :yeah:

gunman41mag 09-18-2011 11:53 AM

Not to mention it's illegal for him to ship you the gun/ammo in the same package....if it's not separated into 2 shipments it's a felony....

gunman41mag 09-18-2011 12:38 PM

My gunsmith wants $250 to mount a bi-pod pin on the McMILLAN stock, he said it's a pain in the butt, to install a pin on the McMILLAN stock cause it's so soft in the inside, that is why they're so light:s: I think $250 is a lot of money, for a little piece of metal that sticks out on the stock, :humm:

Benjamin 09-18-2011 01:47 PM

wow $250.... I'd hate to see what a union gunsmith would charge.....

gunman41mag 09-18-2011 04:21 PM

My 50 BMG gunsmith with sell me the better improve muzzle-brake like the one my 3 other Mcmillan 50 BMG have for $250, he's taking $100 off cause I'm a repeat customer :jump:

gunman41mag 09-23-2011 08:19 PM

The seller has shipped the McMILLAN 50 BMG today:jump:
