What is the barrel twist, is it hard chromed & is the chamber hard chromed....does it have the M4 cut outs??

Personally I'd replace the barrel with a good double thick hard chromed one...the BCG would need inspecting, the gas key for proper staking and inspecting the LPK/trigger as a minimum....those sure fire rails are not free floated & ya can get better ones that are free floated cheaper....the YHM front sight...meh...not all that great....stock is a commercial sized tube I bet....replace all springs....ect...ect...

My Rock River is a 2001 when they were producing superb quality rifles...they have gone from being one of the best to among the lowest quality AR's mass produced...DPMS is actually better....and the Colt's you can get at Wally world...way way better....as are the Windham AR15's.....they are ran by the original Bushmaster group but after Bushy was bought out their quality went into the shatter also....so some of the original bushy guys got together and started Windham & those are a high quality AR....

It depends on which model of the RRA you buy, alot of my friends have them and they a suberp and shoot better that the m4 mochary of a bushmaster my grandfather has. But the best of them is either a colt, of windham are really nice too.

here some reading material Rock River Arms Quality Review

Read the article, the DEA got em in 2003, that's when they weer kicking out quality products...not so much any more.....

The "gap test" between the upper and lower is a scam, has nothing to do with anything...does not effect function or accuracy....and not even a quality benchmark...

Anybody can post stuff on the interweb about how great something is, the vast majority of such reviews are paid reviews to help sales...ya need to find an independent reviewer who uses the products...and does not get paid....

This is all preferential, some like them some don't, that's why we have selection!

Good for you and yep, if ya put a couple hundred rounds down range a year they are fine products........great safe queens who get shot at a nice clean & dry range and not exposed to door kicking environments.....

However, it's been proven time and time again they will not hold up to 2 day classes where ya shoot 1K rounds a day, they break, jam, are not as accurate, have problems and issues & that's why you don't see face shooters using the new ones....

But what do I know....I'm not a smart as ya all are & don't know what it's like to drag a M16/GAU/M4 downrange in conditions you have never seen or lived in for months at a time while expecting your rifle to to go bang every time....and I don't know people who still do that for a living...

As far as the RRA 1911 Poly.....I would not enjoy a plastic 1911, it's called blasphemy :pca1::pca1:

Up to a point correct, just depends on usage & number of rounds downrange....I know a guy who has NV on his RRA varmint and slays pigs with em....but he is always cleaning & working on it, it's not able to take much abuse & has to be kept clean...

Current Bushmasters are garbage.....but like Rock River, older ones are much better...

Colt is good, but so is Daniel Defense, Noveske, LaRue, LMT, BCM, Centurion arms, Knights Armament to just name a few...

guess i should just put away the ROCK RIVER ARMS, & defend myself with a sling shot:D

according to a member, i'll just keep it as a safe queen, since it's of poor quality:w2:

12 valve and proud 11-25-2012 08:11 PM

How do you know the one Gunman bought is brand new? What if its a 2001 or so said the better quality.

Show some respect, he just bought the frigging thing and hasn't even had a chance to shoot it or even get it to his FFL and you just dog him because he got a gun you don't like.

Leave the man alone dang, you don't like it then don't buy one. But don't go off and start conflict just because you aren't a fan of RR. It's just a wasted thread when crap like this happens.

gunman41mag 11-25-2012 09:07 PM

I'm sure that ROCK RIVER ARMS is just as good as the other ar-15

Yep, why let facts get in the way of emotions and u seem quite emotional...

But hey, what can one expect when your defending a friend and making personal attacks about failure to show respect....

Expected nothing less from you...

If they were "just as good as" don't ya think ya would see the big name schools using them, or the big name shooters who actually shoot them instead of being safe queens running them in matches.......

You see more dPMS than RR by a wide margin...

Yep, nothing wrong with a safe queen if that's what ya want & shoot a couple hundred rounds per year.....take her to the FUDD range and make smoke!!!

No idea Idea what Gunman's planed mission for this weapon is...

Just inspect n lube the crap out of her using slip 2000 then go make smoke and see how she does.

gunman41mag 11-26-2012 09:09 AM

Have two Colt, two Rock River Arms, two Professional Ordnance, two Bushmaster, & a Yankee hill machine lower with a stag upper

gunman41mag 11-27-2012 02:34 PM
