Interesting COMPOUND set up. Where is the external wastegate plumbed to. I see one end is in the exhaust pipe, where is the other going?

12vcummins96 06-08-2011 11:12 PM

it will be in the hot pipe in the pic its in the downpipe of my old turbo
i use the t3 to t4 wastegate adapter from engineered diesel

BIGREDGOAT 06-08-2011 11:30 PM

Are you going to wastegate from the manifold to the big turbo, or to exhaust pipe? I was thinking of doing it from the manifold to my S400.

12vcummins96 06-10-2011 10:02 AM

i am wastegating it into my hotpipe to the big turbo to help spool

RAW 06-10-2011 02:10 PM

That's what I was thinking of doing as well, for the same reason. Reduce drivepressure and shaft speed on the top turbo and feed the big turbo more. Any ideas of what you will set the w/g to open at to stsrt with? One must fine tune his system, but always needs a starting poiint.

12vcummins96 06-10-2011 02:17 PM

im starting at 20 psi
the good thing is my big charger is also gated

12vcummins96 06-11-2011 10:13 AM

well kinda stuck waiting for parts but i hope to be done by next weekend thats my goal atleast

RAW 06-17-2011 10:55 PM

I'd like to know what your doing for filtration. By that I mean filter location, box, and tubing. I'm still looking for a nice clean setup for my S400. It has a 5.5" OD on the inlet to the compressor housing.:humm:

12vcummins96 06-17-2011 11:11 PM

im putting it back in the stock location they make a reducer from 5.5 to 5 inch then use the tubing as soon as i get it made ill post pics

RAW 06-17-2011 11:17 PM

I look forward to seeing it. I've been thinking of swapping the location of the battery and airfilter, doesn't seem to be as easy as I first thought.

12vcummins96 06-17-2011 11:41 PM

no that was my first idea but alot more work was required plus i didnt want that battery near my computer

12vcummins96 06-19-2011 08:54 PM

well hopefully tomarrow i will be close to done

Yay troY

RAW 06-23-2011 07:22 AM

Very nice!

12vcummins96 06-23-2011 09:24 AM

all you need is a 5.5 reducer a 5 in 90 boot and a 5 inch 45 pipe and it works great

RAW 06-23-2011 09:31 AM

It does look like it works very well! I can get all of those pieces very easily.
Thinking about building a box around it?
How is the turbo whistle in the cab? That's one of the reasons I (actually SHE) want to put the filter behind the head light. Mainly for cooler, denser air though. Only concern about putting the filter behind the headlight that I have is weather conditions. Like the snow we get so much of.

12vcummins96 06-23-2011 09:49 AM

whistle is not bad well thats all in the eyes of the beholder and yeah i got some 16gauge steel i was thinking about making a box to try to cut down on heat and yeah i agree with not putting it behind the light for weather reasons

lastchanceduramax 06-23-2011 02:53 PM
