Re Paint

I have had cars painted in the past. Some shops will Just clean wax off,and paint right over.
I had one car like that I took it back and made appointment to repaint. However I sanded the car this time,so new paint would stick.
I advise anyone repainting clear coat to apply clearcoat stripper, then lightly sand whole vehicle themselves.
From a Vet to another, thank you for your duty and honor.

Just remember, Sometimes you get what you pay for!! Check with some of your local reputable body shops and get a quote for the same work. You may be surprised what a little more money will get you.

They do alright, but the more prep work you do the better! Take any and every molding or plastic piece of whatever that will not be painted off yorself. All theyll do is get over spray on them or messy tape lines. If you can prep the truck as in make it smooth and good sanding/scuff youll be miles ahead... When I did mine at my buds shop when it was all said and done the material and his labor for painting only was 2500...

I just finished painting my 1994 chev, cost for material was under 500 bucks and it turned out great. We have no body shops where im from but the closest town wanted 4k to do the job :s: Im a licensed body man, well was about 25 yrs ago, lol.I think 4 k was retarted seeing as the truck had no rust and just a few spots where the clear had peeled away, ill try to post pics but so far it just keeps saying i cant post pics :scare2:

For $1200, you could go around town to a mom and pop paint shop and have a single stage done. Just prep it, remove hardware, etc.

I've been quoted at $1500 for a full respray and some filling. Including supplies.

i gonna say this for 1200 buck ur gonna get bout what i have on my truck. my dad had it painted like 7 years ago and paint started to peel year after. hood now has bare spots. do not get signle stage paint. thats where they mix everything together. and just spray once and not all seperate coats. u get what u pay for.

My advise is just to invest enough to get it done right the first time. I have $7500 in body and paint on my truck and anything closer than 20 feet it looks bad in many places.
