that happen to just one? how did the rest of the engine hold up with that chunk of metal flying around the cylinder?
So far so good... These aint no duramaxes... They can take a beating. :D
We sent a 3/8" washer through jasons engine. He cranked it up, heard it go through the intake, bounch in teh cylinder a few times, hit the turbo and out the pipe. Still runs like a top! :D |
durn bobby when did you do that
That's why I pump my own fuel.

wow..thats some wild looking stuff...had a lady bring my uncle her 03 cummins, late one night she put 5 gallons of gas not diesel in her truck and drove it home down the highway she cracked 4 pistons, messed up part she had 350,000 miles on it she hauled horses, when we tore it down the rod bearings looked almost new i was surprised.

What causes that to happen? I know gasoline is thinner than diesel, but what causes the injector to explode into pieces like that when gas passes through?
the gas will take all the lubricity out of the diesel and that injector probably got hot and just came apart from overheating
gas will make a diesel get real hot that is why the diesel pump has a green handle and a big nozzle:argh::argh:
