Have just a few more before I restored the truck with the new replacement box...The orginal box was shot, plus pics if I decide to stack it(has the factory rims in these pics).

I wasn't to sure on the flairs either...Saw a '95 Reg 2wd dually and they seem to look good. When I got them I was really start kicking myself for getting them but they seem ok now .Sometimes next year I'm going to lower the truck as much as I can.I had my share of cutting out rust on this truck.I replaced both rockers and both fenders.Painted the truck myself at home with RM base and Sikkens high solids clear...

Benjamin 12-17-2008 08:02 PM

it looks great paint and body wise. and i'm glad to hear you used quality paint on that thing..... should last you MANY years..... i used Omni (a PPG brand) 2K, Omni base, and U-TEC 4.0 clear on mine..... i got to get off my tail and block sand the clear and put another gallon on it.... just never have enough time......

my question is why lower a 4x4?

Diesel Dave 2 12-17-2008 08:11 PM

Isn't sanding fun??:argh:I color sanded the complete truck starting from 1000,1500 then 2000grit them buffed out with Maquires polishing system.....After a while I was having nightmares about sandpaper.:tttt:

Just want to lower the back end a bit...Just to level it out.Truck doesn't go off roading..

How did you like the U-tec clear???

Next vehicle that I'm restoring,I'm going to try the Dupont products...

Benjamin 12-17-2008 08:12 PM

yup sanding is sooooooooooooooo fun..... especially wet sanding cause that will take away a fingerprint w/o you knowing it.....

looks better now.... look in my album here on DB

Diesel Dave 2 12-17-2008 08:34 PM

Wow.. small world....You emailed a picture of your truck about two years ago from a another forum you where on...Still have the pic on my hard drive. That was the time I was deciding on what color I was going to paint my truck...Also used your truck as a reference for what a reg cab dually with a set of stacks, really looks like...

Kind off topic, are you running a muffler on your stacks??I was going to go fo mine a 4 inch pipe to 5 inch stacks.Do you find it load in the cab??

That is one really nice dually you have...

i like it. i've used it on a few vehicles and the only complaint is it is hard to sand and buff, but that is a good thing in my eyes for durability. i had a couple runs on my grandma's car that i had to rake out and buff and i thought i would never get it to shine again.....

my main thing is price and availability. it is the same price as the old Omni that liked to magically lift off the car in a little over a year.... .....

technically i have 3 mufflers, 2 of the internal mufflers in the stacks and 1 normal 4" :":performance:": muffler that comes standard in exhaust kits like MBRP.... the internal stack mufflers barely reduce the sound any. to be honest i wasted my money on them. the drone isn't too bad with the muffler. when i had it straight piped it would give you a headache if you rode for over 30 min or so..... but it turned so many heads :w2:

thanks.... Many many hours in making it what it is today. looks like you may have as many if not more time in your truck prepping it

Diesel Dave 2 12-17-2008 08:49 PM

Hours in my truck and still not done...I will PM you if I have any questions about your stacks....:ok1:

Benjamin 12-17-2008 08:50 PM

i'm all ears

biged681985 12-17-2008 09:05 PM

nice looking dualy there dave. why are you going 5 inch. might as well go 6 or seven. lol but ya it is a nce truck.

Benjamin 12-17-2008 09:26 PM

ya i will admit that i wish i would have went with 6" stacks too....

littleleadfoot 12-18-2008 10:34 AM

:)I don't think Dave is a loud kinda guy, he has been deciding on the stacks since August. So if he goes 5, I don't think he is the kind that would say "darn shoulda gone 6". He is having a hard enough time convincign himself to put the stacks in in the first place. He is going for clean and nice not bomb power but what do I know I'm just a woman. :w2:

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Dave's truck is on the right end of the trucks on my profile and it's in my video. :yeah:

Diesel Dave 2 12-18-2008 11:58 AM

I was a worried of going to big and getting a bad drone.I guess I'm going for show and no go...:c:

RodZZilla 12-18-2008 03:56 PM

:U:

Nice color combination

IC Smoke 12-18-2008 07:16 PM

that truck looks good!!! I like the paint!

Diesel Dave 2 12-19-2008 11:44 AM

Thanks ICsmoke...And a big tumbs up on your 90 dually restoration...If you need any help with paint send me a PM....You mentioned a blue paint...I seen the new dodge blue and does that look nice. For your show truck put enough clears coats,so you have enough for cutting and polishing, but leave enough flash time between coats that you don't get solvent pop....The hours of work will be worth it...:5:

Dodgehunter84 12-19-2008 02:30 PM

Nice job, your truck looks great!
