Diesel Fuel
hey i was wondering if diesel is flamable after it exits the exhaust pipe. i am wondring because i want to put a flame kit on my stacks that burns off of diesel or some other idea
|
My guess would have to be probably not. if it were possible and easy to do you would probably see tons of threads on how to ignite diesel fumes. probably your best chance of doing it easy was to run real lean
Heres one way.... https://www.dieselbombers.com/durama...e-thrower.html |
no it wont......its a combustable not a flamable
diesel fuel is very hard to lite as it dont flash well.......gatta add bout 20% gas to get er lit flame throwers use propane |
ok what would i use to shoot propane into my stack chamber were the flames wont re-enter the propane supply line

I am just an ol senile bugger ................plus I have CRS diesease too

No hydrocarbon that has reached its flash point can be reburned without a massive amount of heat ie...5000+ degree's. You cant use diesel as a flame thrower in your stack and if you try to do that let me know where you are when ya do it so that I can make sure I'm on the other side of the planet. :pca1:
You need to use propane or butane and use a spark ignition. |
so will a propanr weed burner and a cigerette lighter work lol
|
uuummm...YES, but make sure you're nowhere near me when you do it. :ha:
|
that will be the exact way that i do it thanks alot guys, but did he just thread the brake line into the stacks or tid he put some sort of nozzle or tip on it to kepp the flames from entering the break lines
|
Because of the scavenging affect of the pressurized gas flowing through the orifice you wont get the flame back up through the line.
|
so all i will need to do is tap a brake line into it and it will be fine
|
Just use a standard propane line. Much cheaper and will do the same thing.
|
ok i will look into that thanks alot
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- ok one last question will the exhaust temp in the stacks be hot enoph to ignite the propane |
you will need an ignightor
