I mounted the egt probe right after the turbine in the elbow downpipe. What is my safe egt?

i really dont know but anything over 1500 degress Farenheit is pushing what the the little engine can take. i know 1600 in a fullsize V-8 diesel truck is too much so a little lower and you should have your number

These would be pre turbo, its hard to tell with a pyro after turbo since the etg's can vary by 100 degrees sometimes

I have adjusted the injection pump for no smoke or if so, just a little haze. My egt goes to 350*c on normal driving and sometimes goes for 400*c if i drive it hard. A few weeks ago, i turned up the pump so much to see what it does. I saw a lot of smoke, at no boost and on boost and i was amazed how the egt climb so fast to 400*c in about a minute. And i didn't saw that much difference in performance. Then I reduced the smoke immediately so i will not make damage. So really to much smoke is excessive heat. Thanks

yeah when ur blowin alot of smoke under full throttle ur egt's will skyrocket, have u seen an improvement since u messed around with the pump?

Yes. I can feel the difference. But it is smoking a bit when no boost is applied. Can i do something to reduce the lag?

not really, the extra fuel helps spool the turbo a lil quicker, and makes more boost too
