I wonder what the price tag on that oops was.:scare2:

ArizonaRedneck 02-01-2010 04:47 PM

yep yep i would say its time to take it back to the drawing board:humm:

Hobs1 02-01-2010 04:47 PM

Did that really seem like a good idea to them?

dieseldocter16 02-01-2010 05:00 PM

Wow what a pos. Definetly wouldnt use that fab shop again. :td: Just proof that chrome dont get ya home. lol

insane3639 02-01-2010 08:43 PM

Considering it was on one side i wonder if one person that did that side is feeling pretty bad. Looks as if the lower shock mounts broke.

considering the truck was built by bigfoot inc, it probly didnt matter to him.lol look at how often monster trucks get crunched.

R.Cassidy 02-02-2010 11:50 AM

Wow. Better luck next time. Comon man!

harry22 02-02-2010 03:28 PM

doesnt look like the mounts are on the end of the shocks maybe the bolts broke??

dustys24valve 02-02-2010 08:45 PM

:spit::ha:

tltruckparts 02-02-2010 08:50 PM

i wonder if the coil spring mount broke or over extended itself and popped out before it recompressed

2500superram 02-03-2010 06:34 PM

bolt's from china:s:

Adrenline09 02-04-2010 06:46 PM

The bad part is: all of the mounts are probably in need of being re-built and welded, most likely the ones still intact are now bent.

92_cummins_f250 02-05-2010 11:37 PM

Haha! Thats funny!

You could very well be right actually.

I haven't looked at the design of the brackes on the axle, but it looks like they had both shocks mounted to the axle with one tab and one bolt, which is single shear situation with loads on opposing sides, and when you have over 1000 lbs worth of engine, single shear on a 5/8" bolt generally isn't going to work so well. Just my two cents...:w2:

kazairl 02-23-2010 04:22 PM

That was pretty sad considering the article Four Wheeler wrote on that Truck said its estimated value was 300K

300k according to who? I wouldn't give you more than $100 for that POS. What a waste.

kazairl 02-26-2010 04:05 PM

2008 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD - Four Wheeler Magazine

Probably according to the guy who owns the truck. Biggest part of that would be labor.

2500HeavyDuty 02-26-2010 08:52 PM

Something seems strangely familiar about that video....:humm:

brindle_bull 02-26-2010 09:15 PM

some say a "duramax holds up until a cummins rolls up" but not this one:pca1:

2500HeavyDuty 02-26-2010 09:56 PM

sure...

01trailerpuller 02-28-2010 03:10 PM

Here is a picture of what broke.

emiller3 02-28-2010 03:52 PM

Ouch:ouch:

gmc350 03-01-2010 05:29 PM

been cooler if it hit a bigger jump

pewder 03-02-2010 03:12 PM

Bolt holding the pressure from both of those! Looks like someone forgot the grade 8 bolts. Kinda crappy design on that bottom mount.

DaBomb 03-17-2010 06:09 PM

That is out of the Bigfoot Camp.

BLACK RHINO 03-17-2010 08:59 PM

Typical Show truck. Effectively useless. Built light and barely highway worthy let alone anything else. Also why if your looking most of the show trucks don't have working 4X4 systems Drive angles are to harsh. Cool to see someone actually wreck one in such A weak fashion though. :c:

Rhino.

Diesel Dawgs Performance 03-19-2010 07:53 AM

lol

GhostRider3149 03-20-2010 09:51 PM

Must be nice to have money like that. But even as a "show truck" that's still a little ridiculous. Just my opinion :pca1:

dodge rodder 03-21-2010 09:29 AM

that was expensive

Diesel Dummy 03-21-2010 12:18 PM

Yeah no wonder it broke, one bolt and a puney bracket to hold a truck of that size, you think they would have been smart enough to have the bracket encase the eyes's of the shocks so it could do that, thats what you get when a pencil pusher designs a truck on a computer and not enough testing prior to spending 300K to build a trailer queen!!!

04redstroker 03-21-2010 12:57 PM

hahaha, that was a big jump though. He probably coulda cleared a 2x4 lol

zjohnsonua 03-22-2010 07:08 PM

That's just plain ol' bad engineering. That's a really simple design problem that somebody dropped the ball on. Too bad, had that truck been fully functional it would've been a pretty cool build.

dennhop 04-06-2010 07:59 PM

does that truck look a little lopsided after the jump, or is it just me?:w2:
