I can give you some directions on hydraulic steering if you want. I make all of mine from parts laying around on the farm, and a typical setup costs about $350 or less on the 5 rigs I have built.
|
tell me how you do it..
|
Does it have the solid axles? If not find a donor 4 runner and install them. Detroit in the back and ARB in the front. Get the longfield Birfield joints for the front too. Then get the Marlin doubler.
|
81 has solids front and rear hydro is a good choice so is hysteer with hydro assist. Trail gear sales a hydro assist kit which inst to expensive. I am planning on doing full hydro on my runner though once I get to work on it again.
heres a thread with good info on hydro assist set ups Hydraulic assist, hydro assist tech - Pirate4x4.Com Bulletin Board |
Full hydraulic with a double ended cylinder would be the best way to go IMO. Make sure to use a inline filter and large cooler. Give West Texas Offroad a call, PSC or POS. They can help with any questions:U:

Ahh, I see the Pirate4x4 has already been mentioned. Great place for the rock crawling tech.
My hydro is just farm parts and I've got $375 in it. Turns my 42inch TSLs with no trouble in any situation. |
