They are not bad it takes about 2 hours to install. Simple hand tools is all you need.

It will help, more or less a band-aid though. Your converter will be the next weak link...

Like said above it's more or a band aid. It will allow you to hold around 110-120 at the wheels. Those numbers vary if you have larger tires.

converter

so what converter would you guy recomend me getting

I suggest a full trans build if you plan on doing a converter.

What kinda power ya gonna throw at that 09? If your just gonna run a mild tune it should be good, that 6 speed takes a bit more torture than the 5 speed..If your talking TC might as well save up and get the Suncoast IV and be done with it..JMHO:tu:

stockdmax 04-12-2010 10:44 AM

im guna put somewhere around a 100 horse tune to it you think it will hold it

id do the transgo jr to be on the safe side. It might just be a bandaid but its better than nothing. But the first time it slips (when u switch that tune to a 150+) might as well park the truck, i slipped my trans and ever since its been crapy keep de-tuneing it but still dosent help :nope:

get the jr and run it .... the lmm's are fairly stout in stock form !!!

Just save up after that for a trans just so you are ready. you think you will only run x hp and later on you end up running xx hp or xxx hp ... so just do the jr for now, run the truck. It will let you know when it's unhappy and at that time you can decide what kind of kit you will be needing. I have seen these LMM's hold 450+ at the wheels with a 100% stock trans ... 1 truck even has over 100,000 miles on it...

run it !

oh and the install is basic. A clean work area is a must, you drop the pan, the filter and then the valve body. Dieselplace has a very good write up on it as well.

If your only gonna put a 100hp at it a Trans Jr will be fine. Mine held for a long time and never did limp it even with level 4 on the PPE.. Its the big gears that will slip so keep that in mind (4-5 an 5-6 shifts) Also for the 6 speed its a easy install with the Trans jr compared to the 5 sp. Then when you do get crazy and crank up the juice your Trans Jr will aready be installed:tu:. for your Suncoast IV:rock:
