how did it go?

Well it took me about 8 hours to get all 8 injectors out. I had the most trouble with the drivers side valve covers. When the stealership replaced the injectors 40 thousand miles ago I guess their tech stripped most of the impossible to reach 5mm allen bolts. It was quite an adventure but I got them out. thankfully all the injectors just came out easily. I gave them a couple of twists back and forth as much as possible and they all just pulled out by hand except number 2. that one I had to use a little pry bar. All the cups stayed in place and looked real good. Just waiting on my injectors from Lincoln diesel, should be here tomorrow.

injectors can be a PITA. Various 5mm allen tools are a must. When i did the set on the farsm 03 the tech who did the set before me kinda forgto to tighten a lot of bolts or just forgot them all together, the wiring harnesses under the valvecovere were all loose.

I always tell people dont fix what isnt broken. If the sleeve doesnt come out dont worry about it. Now if you are bored and own the 180 dollar tool, and want to buy 16 o rings, go ahead. But other wise its not that big of a deal.

The tool is pricey, i know it sucks, but if you do this a number of times you will want it. I couldnt live without it. Very quick process.

yes the tools are very helpful to have i made my 5 mm tools out of some old allen wrench sets i ground a ball in the tip and then cut it off to put it in a 5mm socket to get the rear 5mm bolt outa the valve covers with it i allso replaced the bolts with regular headed bolts after i got it apart i threw them damd 5mm bolt away :jump:
