Good cold air intake from Banks or Volant with the ram air attachment, 4-5in exhaust minus the cat and muffler, Tuner from Banks(6-gun), PPE, Hypertech. amd then a good lift pump, I have on from FASS and I have NO complaints about it. that should do you good to start with...
The sponsoring venders here should be able to help you with a good price...

First off, Welcome to Diesel Bombers! :howdy:

Now for your truck, there are ALOT of options. You can buy a aftermarket cold air intake like Big Daddy said, or you can mod your stock airbox for free. The stock Duramax filter and intake system is good for around 500 rwhp. The stock filter actually has been shown to flow and filter better than just about all of the aftermarket systems available. And a free mod is a good mod, if you ask me.

As for tuners, I dont personally know much about the Banks system, but I had a Bullydog on my LBZ Duramax, and it was pretty good.

Before you get a programmer I would strongly suggest getting gauges to monitor your EGT's (Exhaust Gas Temps). Unless of course you plan on getting a Programmer that has a Digital display of the Boost and EGT's.

An Exhaust is ALWAYS a good mod for economy and performance. There are several options for this. I run a 4" Straight MBRP on my truck, and I love the MBRP. Removing my Stock Exhaust and installing the new one took me about an hour in the driveway with basic tools.

Boost and EGT Gauges are important with a Programmer.. keep that in mind especially if you plan on towing.

Your options are very wide with a programmer..There are alot of themand everyone has their own opinions.. Banks, Bullydog, Edge, PPE, Quadzilla, EFI live, Im sure Im forgetting some, but you get the idea.

Anyhow, Congrats on your new DMAX! :c:

If you have any questions, there are ALOT of really smart and very nice people here to help you out!

Welcome to DB :hi:

Swiss cheese the intake (be sure to just cut the big holes only on the front dont mess with the rest)

4inch exhaust.

Boost pyro gauges

Yep, what he said. Your factory filter and intake system flows better and is more efficient than any of the aftermarket units. Do the CAI mod to it and you're good to go. :up2: 4" exhaust will get your EGT's down by about 250-300*, get a boost and pyro gauge, decide if you want a flash programmer or a "box" you can adjust on the fly. Also, switch to a full synthetic oil in the engine with extended range filter and chande the tranny fluid to TranSynd or TorqueDrive. :ok1:

thanks guys now that i see all the options i see that is going to be more difficult then i thought. im going to start with a 4in exhaust im looking at the mbrp and the silverline what would be the better choice between the two?

I like the MBRP, I would go with the Predator/PPE programmer for your truck if it were me

Just an update for you. I got rid of the Bullydog and replaced it with the PPE Programmer. Its EXCELLENT. It gives you the ability to reset your TAPS (trans) and has quicklearn. You can also see vitals of the engine as in monitoring your injectors, recalibrate for tires, gears and pretty much anything else.

like everyone has already said there is a huge market for the dmax motors. the exhaust and gauges are a big one for any diesel IMHO I have heard nothing but good things about the PPE right now I am waiting to get home and install my quad xzillerader II tow module, Congrats on the truck though happy Bombing.:choochoo:
