What is the dumbest question someone asked you about your Truck?

Saw this on another site.

Well, what is the dumbest question someone asked you about your truck?

Not directly to me but I heard someone ask why somone would want a lope sounding truck, they asked whats wrong and why they "Dont clean out the injectors" to make that sound go away.

Whit 11-11-2010 07:38 AM

I run a FASS II and when ya turn the key on it growls, someone asked me what that was and I said the pony motor :tttt:

Pyro690 11-11-2010 08:00 AM

I usually hear "what's the gas mileage?" I tell them I haven't put a drop in. :c:

PREDATOR 11-11-2010 08:30 AM

When you drive a lifted truck, a lot of queers come out of the closet and ask how big my penis is... HAHAHAHA :rocking:

Because it sounds really, really dumb and there is no reason to make the engine do it. If people can make 1200+hp engines that don't lope, you don't need to either. :choochoo:

Red_Rattler 11-11-2010 09:37 AM

"Is that a diesel?" While at the diesel pump

Him "Got a chip on that thing?!"

Me "Nope its a 12v all mechanical"

Him "Man u gotta get a chip on it then! They make crazy power!"

Me "Yeaaaaa...."

Do those stacks work?

Rustin 11-11-2010 02:07 PM

I got this one day when it was running a little off

"Something wrong with you carburetor? It sounds like your valves need adjusting to bring it to my shop.
When I asked him if he works on diesels, he looked at me and then said "That's a diesel?"

Farmboy 2.0 11-11-2010 02:12 PM

Re: What is the dumbest question someone asked you about your Truck?

Almsot forgot.

Those fund raiser car washes;
Guy signals me to lower window as he's drying off door panels

Him: "WHY U GOT SO MANY SPEED-DOM-IDERS?"
Me:"Long story. "

Him talking about my guages.

bulldog77 11-11-2010 06:56 PM

I just tell them its snap on stacked with craftsman.

MI-Duramax-Boy 11-11-2010 07:04 PM

points at my Dmax... "that thing got one of those "Comings" Diesels in it??????"

And theres no reason to not do it either.... thats your opinion. I personally kinda like the sound of a V8 diesel with a little lope.

I might think that your little mercedes diesel sounds really, really dumb compared to my Cummins, but I'm not about to call you out on something like that. That would be considered rude :hellox:

J-Pipes 11-12-2010 05:08 PM

I have had people look at my truck from the front, while it's running, and not only ask if it's a diesel, then when I reply it is, they ask if it's a 24v, my licesne plate reads "24VLVE"

GuyWithA24Valve 11-12-2010 05:22 PM

The most common one people ask is why it's so loud (while it's idling)

Then some guy asked what I had done to my truck, and after I told him everything he said I should have just straight-piped the stock exhaust because diesels need back pressure. :argh:

94duality 11-12-2010 05:25 PM

My brother and i got asked at the race track, if his truck had a turbo.:humm: When he has a big sticker in the back window that say CUMMINS TURBO DIESEL

big willy 11-12-2010 06:33 PM

the two most common ones i get are how much of a lift do you have on there
all i have is a leveling kit

and will it roast the tires
tell them it wont do it as i drive off saying its to the floor pushing 1200 rpms

I've come to the conclusion that most of the Mecedes guys on the forum are rude. They're like the loner group of Diesel Bombers. :nope:

monster12valve 11-13-2010 07:45 AM

" dang... did you swap a school bus motor in that thing? " and also i get the "what chip do you have in there" about 3 times a day. and when i say its a 12v all mechanical they say " all trucks are mechanical arent they?" :argh:

Just to people who don't know how to tune an engine right!

And theres no reason to not do it either.
Actually there is...its pointless. People that stare at a loping truck aren't thinking "thats cool!", they're thinking "somethings wrong with that POS", especially when it smokes.

Maybe you can join in on this topic if you actually had a truck, fricken troll! :moon: GTFO :hellox:

FordDZLMan9191 11-13-2010 01:04 PM

When I had my dodge, which was a 96 1/2 ton with a 318, just about everyone asked if it was a diesel.

Then with the truck I have now, 85 f250, I had someone ask it it had a 390 in it. I told him "no, it has a 420" He looks at me funny. I say "6.9 diesel"

He's signed up under several names since we finally sent him packing. He likes us so much that he just can't bring himself to leave us. He just can't figure out that we've dealt with hundreds of him through the years. We know how to track them, we know when they're back and it only takes a couple of keystrokes to ban the new name and and delete any posts they have made.

Once in a while we let them stay under a new name just to see if they can change and become a welcomed member, if not we hit the button again. I thought I'd give him a few posts to see if he could do it, but he couldn't. I decided to leave these posts here just so everybody could see them.

5.9Bronco...eventually 11-13-2010 02:43 PM

while I was talking about building my bronco into a diesel bronco a kid riding with me asked if it had a diesel now when we were in it.

No...thats why im building it into a diesel. Idiots.

I also hate when someone asks me if my bronco is a blazer.

angelic0- 11-13-2010 05:19 PM

i get the "hat chip do you have?" and "Do you have a chip on it?" all the time..

one guy asked me "Do you run it all the time with a smoke tune?" (not that it smokes much) but i simply replied YES!

i was just about to write another stupid question i got asked but i forgot it :P

dmaxtothemax 11-13-2010 05:49 PM

94duality 11-13-2010 06:44 PM

Well got another one today. While out with my brother getting his truck dyno'd we were "tweaking" his truck after his first pull (aka fixing a broken valet switch) we got asked why his truck smokes like it does. This guy swore we fried the rings!!! I advised him to read the back window, which has a huge diesel sticker in it. :argh: I dont get why people cant read!!

Well where i'm from, people usually can't read, but they DO know a diesel from a gasser... :yeah:

94duality 11-13-2010 07:00 PM

Up here people are just to damn lazy to read. And they really don't know the difference.

Yea pretty much. This is one of the kids I go to college with and we are supposed to be smart. I go to a purely engineering school.

That makes you feel good doesnt it ha. He was an electrical engineer though

I was filling my truck at the Husky house in the rich end of town, and this cocky little richy rich kid got out of a brand new STI, walked up to my truck, and proceeded to tell ME "you have a Duramax 7.3L in your truck right? A dodge can't be that quiet" I simply replied "no I just have a muffler on my truck" He started listing of ways I had to be wrong,"diesels don't have mufflers" being his main argument. I just left him standing there rambling and walked off to pay for my fuel, when I came back outside he was still yipping away.

Graybeard 11-15-2010 07:11 AM

Like others noted before, I get the ",,,that a diesel?" while standing at the diesel pump filling up! :humm:

Those are the worst. They think they know it all about cars and trucks, and they are always wrong, but you just can't tell them that. They are so damn persistent, it drives me nuts! :tttt:
