These are the recommended minimum shut down times from an 06 Dodge repair manual. You can go later if you so desire. |
alot of peeps just pull up and shut er off.......that aint good
coking of the oil will break down and cause alot of problems..........usually see it in a failed turbo first |
The turbo timer on my Viper system is set at 3 minutes and in the 100+ degree driving in Houston its usually down to about 385* when it shuts off.
i usually wait til my egt guage reads 300*
If I wait for 300 my truck would run constantly. Mine will go down to about 325 if it sits for 5 mins but never goes any lower.
I also wait until turbo temp reaches 300*. usually takes 5-7 min after highway driving and 2-3 min around town
thats one thing thats nice about the edge juice set it for 385 and truck turns off when cool.
A Duramax VVT will never get anywhere near 300*. Not an issue being liquid cooled.
I have my Pulse set at 300* off. But if i leave the AC on it won't get that low.
mine drops to 300* in about 2-4 min even after a long haul on the interstate:humm:
