This thread is hilarious.

To the OP...

The technology to do it on HEUI injectors is not there yet. If you really want to make 1200, it's going to take a boatload of money, and a P-pump Cummins. There ARE 1200 hp CR Cummins trucks, but they're not too common.

Or you could just buy some of the biggest 6.0 injectors made... And a couple huge stages of nitrous, and you might do it... But I doubt it.

Best bet for you right now is some low torque tunes and a straight pipe.

So your saying there are no 6.0 PSD's in that general area... above 1000hp?:moon:

X2. There are a couple that I know of, Ellerton's truck, for the number it runs in the 1/4 should be over 1000. This thread is funny though, anyone seriously looking for 1000hp in a 6.0 won't be asking how to do it in a thread.

I think a full blown banks power pack will get you the power and torque you are looking for

Sooo... You guys think that looking at an engine as a one time use product is not a bad idea?

riddick01 06-19-2010 01:28 PM

oh its a great idea if u have the money to replace it ever 1/4 or 1/2 mile...u could probly make it 1 mile if u have to drive a long way to stage and u drive it and dont drag it

How many motors has Shawn gone thru???

I am sure he has made more then one pass on each motor???

It's just getting to the point now where the pistons are melting pretty quickly... Ask Sean. At full power, they're not holding together too well. Doug said it has something to do with dwell at TDC. We'll see how they go around it.

Ok I was wrong. You can do it the easy way for $48,000.

1200hp ready to go.

Except it's a Duramax, not a Powerstroke. :moon:

Shawn Ellerton was on stock pistons in that 6.0, and the calculators put it near 1200hp. Those pistons lasted a LONG time in that truck, and he finally had one cracking. He was doing this on stock heads, stock pistons, stock 05HPOP and a few other stock items that might surprise you.

It can be done, but it will cost. He actually (Shawn) just plopped down the cash for some Elite heads to avoid low airflow to the back two cylinders and he will be running Dougs intake now too.

10.50's in a CC that is full weight and trapping over 130mph in the 1/4 is impressive to me.

If I'm not mistaken, it is Shawn who is the super street NHRDA record holder, not a duramax.

Also, according to Shawn, that stock piston has been in there for 4 years.
