No, thats not what i consider abuse and i certainly didn't mean to speculate that this guy was a hammerhead....putting 25k lbs behind one on a regular basis (like i know a few people do) would be cause for concern.

So back to the original question, if it were me, i would put a cummins back in it and save alot of money, do whatever you want with the tranny but if its still strong, i wouldn't worry about it.

Just an update;

He found an entire 6.0 replacement engine assembly for $7000 (I think from a wrecked truck), so it's going back to origional. He'll be ditching the truck once it's back on the road for a while and makes sure he won't be selling someone a problem.

Got to give him credit for driving it awhile to make sure bugs are worked out, saving the next person a huge headache.:c:
