Make a complaint to your state ATTORNEY GENERAL
In most common law jurisdictions, the attorney general or attorney-general is the main legal advisor to the government, and in some jurisdictions he or she may also have executive responsibility for law enforcement or responsibility for public prosecutions

Thx, I figured the ford section just might have had someone who had delt with Elite, since they are better known for 6.4's. But I have talked to my bank and visa about just taking the money back from their acct and they are more than willing to do that. The shity thing is I paid my builder who then paid Elite, so my builder would get the charge back, but the way I look at it, I have owned my own concrete/excavation company you build wroung your screwed and the same should hold for truck builders.

Diesel Dawgs Performance 10-28-2012 12:47 PM

Have you talked to the person that built the trans?

Luke

Lemont 10-28-2012 04:12 PM

Yes, I've been in contact with several sales men @ "Elite Diesel "who built the trans without any reply for going on two weeks. I called them after first going to my builders where it actually blew second. When I called I gave them 72 hrs to reply before calling them again and so on. I am not wanting to scew anyone over, but after spending 27k on a truck, I just got back. It gets under my skin.

Mdub707 11-01-2012 09:16 AM

I'd try harder to get in touch with someone there, I can't believe you even destroyed two of their transmissions... what kind of power are you running? Who does your tuning?

Elite is a TOP NOTCH shop, they don't always get to the phones right away because they're super busy building some of the highest HP powerstrokes in the country. Did you leave messages when you called?

Who are you going through to get the Elite stuff? It sounds like you're using a builder who is just buying from Elite?

Curry 11-01-2012 11:36 AM

Better make sure you read their fine print warranty. Might be voided from something on the truck.

Mdub707 11-01-2012 12:28 PM

They have a few guys on PSA all the time too, might have better luck getting in touch with someone there...

Farmboy 2.0 11-01-2012 01:04 PM

What trans is it? A 68RFE? And what year and make of truck?

Lemont 11-01-2012 02:04 PM

03 f250 with 2011 6.7 cummins built 4r100

Farmboy 2.0 11-01-2012 02:12 PM

Ok so I take it that you have a standalone valvebody then? And whats breaking? Input shafts? clutches?

Lemont 11-03-2012 12:42 PM

Blowing out second, each time. Valvebodys stickin and then bye to second. The first time took about 4 hrs the second time a month and four months to completely blow it out. I'm taking it in on the 12th, lowed 3rds shift point, for now.

Mdub707 11-05-2012 09:16 AM

I didn't even know they built 4R100's anymore.

BTS is the top 4R100 people IMO.

I'm interested to hear/see more on your truck too, sounds awesome. I can't believe you're having issues with it too, what kind of power are you making? They're running 4R100's behind some of the strongest 6.4's out there.

Lemont 11-05-2012 12:05 PM

I like the 4r if your hot roddin,my builder is known for ford, cummins, allison combos(but for another 12.5k, i don't tow that much) Bts is good and I thought Elite would be good seeing how, damn near every ford in the diesel power challenge this year had elites tranny. And I live in Colorado where Elite is also, this tranny is suppose to handle 750 with a 200 shot of nos and I'm at 550hp and want a coumpond with a 72mm, 90's and Bd's new 6.7 cp3 coming out next year. I posted some pics, I'll post more soon.

Mdub707 11-05-2012 12:52 PM

Yeah it should still hold together. I wonder if there is an issue with the stand alone controller maybe? Did you set up the shifting for it? Did it seem to shift fine until issues arose or have there always been issues with it? Elite can definitely be hard to get a hold of, but if you get on powerstrokearmy there area few guys there that can help you out for sure.

Mdub707 11-05-2012 01:30 PM

I just spoke with J.D. from Elite on Facebook, he said call him and dial his extension at 105. If you don't get him, leave a voicemail, the way he made it sound he hadn't heard anything.

Is your name Dwayne? Sounds like JD has already spoke to you and your truck is supposed to be there by the 12th so they can pull it and look at it???

He said he spoke with you and is waiting to hear from you about making a time to drop it off before the 12th? He literally just checked his voicemail and said he hasn't heard anything from you (Dwayne).

Are you Dwayne, or is Dwayne your builder who is contacting them? Either way, sounds like Elite is waiting to hear from you. Destroked built your truck right??? Just want to make sure we have the same guy. JD said you can call him and use his extension if you have any questions.

:c:

Well I'm goin in soon, I have talked with them as of last week. I hope it holds and I have a tune by my builder, so I can get on it and yet still be able to tow if I had to. There was a tune on it at first, which was nasty, but would of been to hard on towing. Not that i really do, but would like the option.

Mdub707 11-06-2012 09:23 AM

Who's doing the tuning?

As for the 4R100, tuning helps kind of, but it's really a dumb trans so to speak (in a good way) and it uses a stand alone PCS controller, especially in an application like this to tell it when to shift and what not. It's user adjustable, pretty cool actually. A lot of the 6.4's running them (I'm talking 1300ish rwhp trucks) use the same setup, PCS controller and a 4R100 to put the power down. Less shifts than the 5R110 and longer gears means it puts more of a load on the engine and wha-la, more boost. Plus it makes nice solid shifts, instead of the electronic transmissions going between different gears and what not. (The 5R110 is basically like two separate three speed transmissions).

Lemont 11-07-2012 08:08 PM

Destroked is doing the tune there are a few different versions, the ones crazy and damn near unstreetable. The other is where I am now and it puts it down when it actually holds. I have talked to JD and I am suppose to be down there on the 12th, I'll call him again and confirm, but I thought I was just to be down there on the 12th
. The 5r has the same ratios just more bs.

Mdub707 11-08-2012 08:30 AM

The 5R is a 6 speed electonically controlled, hydrualically activated trans, way different. Even though OD may be roughly the same ratios... way different setups in the way they shift and drive. Most guys I see who do cummins swaps and stick with the 5R end up regretting it. It seems to work great behind the 6.0 and the 6.4, but put it behind anything else and try to do the stand alone controller on it... never seems to work right. You have to love the simplicity of the 4R with the PCS controller. Hope you get it all worked out man! Let us know how it holds up. Have any pics of this truck yet?

Lemont 11-08-2012 09:50 AM

Close ratios, but different all around I know. I did not want the 5r and believe in the 4r done right will be a good trans. Some pics can be found in my profile.

Mdub707 11-08-2012 10:54 AM

Agreed, I would have went the same way.

Farmboy 2.0 11-08-2012 11:01 AM

The 4r100 is one tough SOB as long as you have really good tuning on the PCS controller. Thats what H&S runs behind there 9 second 6.7L cummins race truck

Mdub707 11-08-2012 12:08 PM

Yup, it's also holding up behind King Kong too.

Lemont 11-09-2012 11:36 PM

Yea, I'm a fan of the 4r. I think Rudy's uses it as-well in his daily driver(1,200 hp/ over 2 in torque) and their fast ford 9 second truck. Mdub you checkout the pics, Ill post more soon, goin Mon to get the tranny work done, I hope to be back in-town mid week if all goes well. I am Duane and forgot my password and it was faster to just recreate a profile. Owe and Scott I would have to think that destroked has the Pcs controller dialed in seeing how they do alot of conversions and builds plus they have a good reputation; hence the Dec issue of Diesel World's Mag spread on them. Ive enjoyed working with them and have faith in their abilities. If it was'nt for them I don't know if I would have gotten a call back believe it or not.

Lemont 12-08-2012 07:09 PM

Elite, is going around in circles with me. Truck still getting fixed and I gave it to them Nov 12th, I was told it would take no longer than 5 days and stayed in Arvada Co for the first week. Then I called them on the 15th (calied them and called them they never were straight up and would never return a call) they said hard parts were broke, which they had said if they were, that they would order them on Mon, but they never opened up the tranny till Thurs. Now it being thurs parts would not be in till the following week. Which I had to have Destroked pick me up from my hotel and take me to the airport to hop on a shuttle to get home. Still not talking them going strickly through Destroked I don't have my truck back. I never want to deal with them ever again.
