Like was said, just an opinion...I never did like the sound with a straight pipe and went back to a Magnaflow muffler, which is still throaty but not like a potato is stuck in it.
early '99, stock exhaust, no muffler: http://webpages.charter.net/jimtjr1116/wavs/truck.wav '03 7.3 with 4" Magnaflow turbo back no muffler, and 6" tip: http://webpages.charter.net/jimtjr1116/wavs/truck.wav |
I'd like to hear a 5" Straight Pipe with a 6" Tip

i did the ultra cheap route.. i just bought a stainless 4" downpipe, some 4" straight pipe tubing from summit racing, and then bought a used stack kit off a member here. i have less than $450 into my whole setup, but my suggestion is if you are gonna do it,
just buy a 4" down pipe from any of the vendors here, and order 2 straight pieces of 4" from summit racing ( Summit Racing SUM-640040 - Summit Racing® Exhaust Tubing - Overview - SummitRacing.com ) and just get an elbow to do a turnout after the cab. may not be the best setup in the world but it will work efficiently. |
You can get a good turbo back 4" system for less then 300 bucks... Why dick with the factory system...

I agree!!!!! :rocking:
