So for a 2001 is it true that the manual transmission was at 275 hp on the flywheel?

I'm going off of real world dyno numbers, not magazine numbers. A stock 6.4 and stock 6.0 should put down about the same amount of HP at the wheels anyways. You and I know a 6.4 is still a quicker truck. This is where guys get in trouble bragging about HP numbers, since they're essentially useless. Looking at the dyno graph will tell you worlds about how a truck drives. 6.4's have amazing power under the curve, and we know this because seat of the pants shows a 6.4 out running a 6.0 pretty easily, despite the same HP numbers. Same goes for the 6.7 cummins, it only puts down about 270 rwhp stock too, but should outrun the 6.0 due to the higher torque rating. HP is a function of torque anyways, HP is just a silly number.

Every 6.0 has had the 5R110. (at least every auto 6.0) I'm assuming you're talking about the auto since the manual trans was the ZF6.

Unless i post RWHP, it will be fly wheel HP

no i meant autos. he said- in 2003 the 7.3L F250 diesel trucks got a jump in power to 250 horsepower and 525 lb-ft of torque. The standard F250 transmission in gas powered trucks was a 5-speed automatic, although a 4-speed automatic could be ordered. i didn't know there was a 5speed available before 2005.
