articfox 11-22-2011 06:47 PM

fordornothing 11-22-2011 06:55 PM

well i'm not sure on the torque but i know at the flywheel on my E99 it's 255. to th ground it's probably about 225. tops.

o okay thanks i gota get my truck dynoed problem is there isnt anyone who has one:argh:

fordornothing 11-22-2011 07:04 PM

i thought NC was a racing state. ther has to be some one. but to the ground depends on the vehicle. and the 255 is stock.

it is but the dynos here are non resistance like they wont spool up the turbo so its kinda pointless for me to get on one with out Resistance. n to use one from a shop is like 500 a run :argh: n thanks

The base engine for the 1999 F250 pickup was the 5.4L Triton V8 making 260 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. 1999 introduced the first V10 F250, and this variant of the Triton engine family offered 310 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque. The premium engine option for the new F250 Super Duty was the Powerstroke turbo diesel V8, making 235 horsepower and 500lb-ft of torque from 1999-2002, and in 2003 the 7.3L F250 diesel trucks got a jump in power to 250 horsepower and 525 lb-ft of torque. The standard F250 transmission in gas powered trucks was a 5-speed automatic, although a 4-speed automatic could be ordered. The F250 diesel models came with a standard 6-speed manual transmission, although there were also a 4- and 5-speed automatic transmissions offered for the F250 Powerstroke models. The gas engine options would remain unchanged throughout the first generation of the F250 Super Duty, but the 7.3L Powerstroke was replaced by the 6.0L diesel late in 2003, and this new version of the F250 Powerstroke made 325 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque

A stock 7.3 will more than likely NOT put over 200 to the ground. A stock 6.0 should be around 250-270 rwhp.

My 2008 F-250 6.4 has 350 HP but only 259 RWHP as per a diesel magazine. So I'm losing 91 HP

i thought the 5 speed auto didn't come out til 05? gunman. are the numbers you listed at the flywheel or to the ground?

articfox 11-24-2011 08:19 PM

anyone know a place in nc that i can get my truck dynoed?

logdrum 11-25-2011 02:09 PM

So for a 2001 is it true that the manual transmission was at 275 hp on the flywheel?

I'm going off of real world dyno numbers, not magazine numbers. A stock 6.4 and stock 6.0 should put down about the same amount of HP at the wheels anyways. You and I know a 6.4 is still a quicker truck. This is where guys get in trouble bragging about HP numbers, since they're essentially useless. Looking at the dyno graph will tell you worlds about how a truck drives. 6.4's have amazing power under the curve, and we know this because seat of the pants shows a 6.4 out running a 6.0 pretty easily, despite the same HP numbers. Same goes for the 6.7 cummins, it only puts down about 270 rwhp stock too, but should outrun the 6.0 due to the higher torque rating. HP is a function of torque anyways, HP is just a silly number.

Every 6.0 has had the 5R110. (at least every auto 6.0) I'm assuming you're talking about the auto since the manual trans was the ZF6.

Unless i post RWHP, it will be fly wheel HP

fordornothing 11-25-2011 10:14 PM

no i meant autos. he said- in 2003 the 7.3L F250 diesel trucks got a jump in power to 250 horsepower and 525 lb-ft of torque. The standard F250 transmission in gas powered trucks was a 5-speed automatic, although a 4-speed automatic could be ordered. i didn't know there was a 5speed available before 2005.
