aftermarket turbo
so im experiencing serious turbo surge, and i figured if im going to spend 500 for a ported housing i might as well spend a couple thousand and never have to worry about it again. what is the best aftermarket turbo for me to get? it says below i run superchips, do right now when i get the turbo im switchin to ts. i was thinkin ats but any opinions are welcome thanks

Id prolly go with the garett gt38r turbo. It will be a good turbo for just a chip but with a mild set of street or towing injectors and that thing would run good.

Re: aftermarket turbo
Local guy has a 99 with a DP Tuner Chip, Mild Injectors and a ATS Aurora 3000 Turbo and it runs very strong.

What's your end goal?

Would not touch anything ATS... If it comes from the purple palace its junk and over priced.
38R will take you to about 400-450hp, A T4 or T4i type mid frame kit will take you anywhere you want to go. |
joe bob: id like to still have a daily driver, but be able to show off alot an smoke them little rice burners when they wanna race, and i occasionally pull loads weighing around 20000-25000 lbs. so around 400-500 horse.. and why not the aurora 3000 system csipsd?
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- what kind of garrett do i have now? |
Re: aftermarket turbo
You have a gt38 now. If your not going over 500 a 38r should be fine for you. If you want bigger go with a t4 mount kit and a turbo to match.
|
do you know whats wrong with the 3000 joebob?
|
im sure they are a fine turbo but like joe said i will never buy anything from them. they are way over priced and have some of the worst worrenty i have ever heard of. they are just not a good company to deal with.

There is some information here that may be misconstrued.
A turbocharger alone will not give you 400-450 horsepower. |
